Flood Report

The document discusses Thailand's 2011 flood situation. Heavy rains caused dams like Bhumibol Dam to exceed capacity, forcing the release of large amounts of water that flooded central provinces outside Bangkok. The government initially blocked floodwaters from reaching Bangkok, causing water levels to rise in surrounding provinces. They eventually had to release water into Bangkok as well, raising water levels and dirtying the water supply in certain areas. Many people were evacuated to other provinces, overcrowding them and creating issues with lack of food and water.

In central region, the water starts covering the provinces from the urban outside Bangkok such as Ayutthaya, Nonthaburi, Pathumthani, and Nakornpathom. Those provinces was covered by water for many weeks because the government was block the water from coming to Bangkok so that why the water was higher and higher in the provinces near Bangkok.
