Art/Craft Projects 1. Mosaic a. Start with drawing a simple design, like a flower b.

Decide on colors that you would like to use in the design c. Arrange tiles in the design to see if everything fits d. Fix the tiles to a backing List of Materials (Cost depends on the materials used) Paper Colored Pencils Scissors or other cutting tools Glue or an adhesive Old magazines or material for the tiles 2. Clay Sculpture a. Start with choosing a design (I could have a list of suggested objects) b. Cut appropriate size piece of clay c. Form desired object using various clay techniques (such as pinch, coil or slab) d. Let clay dry and harden (this part is dependent on the clay we use, since we would be working without a kiln we would use self hardening clay) e. Paint and decorate object List of materials (Cost would be $40-$70) Clay (About $40-$50 for 50 pounds) Clay working tools Paint Paint Brushes 3. Watercolor Painting a. Start with drawing a picture with pencil on watercolor paper (most likely a landscape) b. Go over the drawing with ink c. Paint the drawing with desired colors List of materials (Cost would be about $4 per person) Watercolor Paints Watercolor Paper Bushes Water container

4. Patchwork Quilt a. Each person would design a 12x12 square b. Cut and arrange the material in the design with pins c. Sew the arrangement together d. Sew all squares together into one sheet e. Sew on back sheet with batting inside List of materials (Cost would be minimal $10-$20) Scrap material (I would try to get as much of this as I could for free) Needles (Using embroidery needles because theyre larger and duller) Thread (For this I would want to use embroidery thread because it is durable) Scissors
