Changes Under Regn.-3 regarding operators & workers. Under Regn.-5 Electrical safety Officer. [Rule-3(6)] a sub-regulation (4) regarding the installation of the electrical equipment above MSL Two sub-regulations (5) & (6) are seen added newly mentioning about earthing, painting & identification of the panels/switch gears. Sub-rules 2(a) & (b) regarding the steps to be taken for the non-remittance of inspection fee are seen removed. Sub-rule (3) fixing the responsibility of the consumer in maintaining the installation free of danger is seen deleted. the capacity above which to be inspected by the Electrical Inspector before commissioning will be notified by the Appropriate Govt. (a). The connected load & voltage above which Electrical Inspector is to be inspected will be notified by the Appropriate Govt. (b). The height of the emergency push button is now not more than 1.7m, but with IER, this limit was 2.75m. No Change [51(1)(c) 37(iii)] (a) the voltage above which Electrical Instns. need to be inspected by the Electrical Inspector will be notified by the Appropriate Govt. (b) With rule the period of recommencement of supply after an installation was disconnected, after which permission from Electrical Inspector is needed was one year. Instead of LT, MV, HV or EHV in IER, 1956 with CEA Safety Regulations, 2010 respective voltage ranges are used with regulations. (ie. 250V, 650V, 33kV or above) 2. Only Electrical Inspector is used, nowhere, the officers to assist. 3. In most of the cases the to the satisfaction or similar phrase is replaced with as per Indian Standards. 4. With many regulations, it is mentioned that the limit to which Electrical Inspector to be inspected will be notified by the Appropriate Government. 5. Wherever the word ENERGY is used, now it is replaced with ELECTRICITY.
