What we are learning In Reading- The story this week is Frog and Toad All Year. The phonics study is the long a sound represented by either ay or ai. The spelling lists are longer and more difficult. Your child needs to study. In Writing-We are working on writing for different reasons. We are beginning to find ways to elaborate on a topic. We now expect that the children will write at least 5 sentences using the proper conventions. In Math-We have begun Unit 7, Numbers to 100. In Science-We are beginning a unit on plants. We will also study the difference between frogs and toads to go along with the reading selection.

Field Trip- On May 1 we are going to the Santa Fe College zoo and planetarium. The cost is usually $7, however we have some cash left from the bake sale making the cost for children $4 and $7 for adults. A permission form has come home already. Please send it back with payment in cash.

Help Needed! *Please remember your snack day. If you happen to forget, please send in a replacement for when someone else forgets. *Please send in one or two plants for us to plant in or flower bed out back. Thanks!
