To activate material requirements planning (MRP), requirements planning must be turned on in customizing, plant parameters must be set up for the relevant plant, and materials subject to automatic planning must be assigned an MRP type other than "not planned" in the material master. During an MRP run, the system will check for a planning file for each material, determine reorder points and lot sizes, calculate order quantities and timing based on forecast and current inventory levels, and generate planned or purchase orders as needed through external or internal procurement processes.

MRP PREREQUISITES

Requirements planning for the corresponding plant must be activated in Customizing for Materials Management under Consumption-Based Planning Planning Activate Material Requirements Planning. The plant parameters for the corresponding plant must be activated in Customizing for Materials Management under Consumption-Based Planning Plant Parameters Carry Out Overall Maintenance of Plant Parameters.

In the material master record, you have to maintain the MRP data of the materials that are subject to automatic planning. Automatically planned materials are not assigned with MRP type ND (= not planned).

MRP RUN
During the MRP Run the system will check the Planning file entry exist for the material or not, If Yes No
