Science and Technology


Students will be able to: Use the indefinite and definite articles to talk about scientific advances. They also practice ing clauses.

PROCEDURES Motivation
(Introduction that creates learner interest for the lesson)

Warm up by asking students to them what is the definition of TECHNOLOGY. Have them go back in time in their minds and think of something they thought was revolutionary technological speaking to them. Teacher writes down the different words given by the students on the board. Ask students about the effects technology has in our society. They go over the topic on Unit 3 lesson A, Science and Technology.

Presentatioin
(Introduction of the competency, language standards and other

skills)

Wednesday, Students are given a list of frequency adverbs to practice with a class of the same level. Introduction of new vocabulary.

Practice
(Learners use the new language through controlled activities) Provide students with a handout with a short biography about Steve Jobs. Have different students read out loud. Listen to the Lesson A #2 activity. Definite and indefinite articles

Application
(Learners use the new language for their own real reasons)

Students go over the handout in class. They have a discussion on the effects of technology in our society now days. Have them work on the activity about definite and indefinite articles. Students put into practice the new vocabulary in a class interaction with another seccion.

Evaluation
(Activity that aligns with the objectives to determine learner progress) Students are given a handout on the topic for them to complete.

Posible materials
(Texts, authentic materials, video etc.)

Handouts, overhead projector.
