All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is carried out by the CBSE together with the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, MHRD. This exam is conducted to admit students to some of the top institutions in the country like IITs, NITs and other state level engineering colleges. The entrance in to these colleges purely depends in the rank secured by the participant in the AIEEE Exam. The students who have secured high score will get an admission call from most of the renowned colleges in India. From this year onwards, the AIEEE is also offering online exam to around lakh students. It will be allotted on the first come first serve basis. Rest of the students can give the exam in the traditional paper based pattern. The AIEEE Exam are mainly carried out to select qualified candidates to the BE/B. Tech courses and also B.Arch/B. Planning courses offered in the top most colleges in the country. AIEEE Paper Pattern AIEEE paper consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 has three sections: -Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with equal weight for each subject. Each section consists of multiple choice objective-type questions each of which has four choices. Out of the four choices for a given question, only one choice is correct. Paper 1 has a negative-marking scheme wherein an incorrect answer is negatively marked with one fourth of the maximum marks allotted to the question. Paper 2 has three sections: -Mathematics, Drawing, and Aptitude. Mathematics, and Drawing sections have multiple choice objective-type questions and the Aptitude section has drawingbased questions. The duration of each paper is of three hours.
