Microprocessors Proposal

This project aims to build a sun tracking system using a microprocessor that determines the position of the sun through light sensors and moves a photoelectric cell array to that position using a stepper motor. The system uses various components like sensors, motors, converters and an I/O chip controlled by a microprocessor to accurately track the sun for maximum solar energy collection throughout the day.

Microprocessors Sun Tracking System

Project Description:
As the name implies, the Sun Tracking System is a project that helps in tracking and determining the position of the sun or any powerful light source, this is done by determining the angle at which the maximum light intensity occurs during any time of the day. The system is going to use light sensors, a stepper motor, a stepper driver, an Analog-to-Digital converter, a Digital-to-Analog converter, a 8255 I/O chip, a power supply and of course a microprocessor. The basic idea of this system is that it determines the maximum light intensity using the light sensors, and interpolating the highest two intensities to determine accurately the position of the sun, the stepper motor then starts to move the photoelectric cells to the most appropriate position, this all happens according to the program designed, where the microprocessor deals with all the components to achieve maximum efficiency. The purpose of this system is to get the maximum electrical energy from solar energy.
