Weekly Outline:
Activity session subject : Locations: Town and Country Vocabulary: Town/Country town, country, bus, building, apples, apple tree, cheese, milk, cow, mouse. Locations of things are they in the town or the country? Where do natural foods come from? where does cheese and milk come from, where do apples come from? Activities / songs / games: Location games associating things with the town or the country. Spelling games using the childrens bodies to form letters for simple words. Worksheets to practice associations and writing. Making toilet roll mice. Town mouse and country mouse book reading to children and activities to complete with the book. Country Mouse song with actions for children to dance along. Colouring sheets. Thinking about where food comes from milk, cheese, apples

Phonics Practice using the short o sound in three letter words combining it with beginning and end consonants. Practice using spelling games. Introduce the concept of words that rhyme two words with the same short vowel sound and consonant ending. Helps students to recognize word groups. Maths Review counting numbers one to twenty forwards and backwards. Forming written numerals eleven to twenty. Play the human addition game, the corners game and others to develop and understanding of simple addition and subtraction. Notes / parent follow up: Encourage your child to distinguish between when they are in a town and when they are in the country. Show them examples of both on trips and the different ways of life. Practice directions left, right, forwards, backwards when moving around eg if in the car or on the bus.
