Spq3R: Use To Understand A Nonfiction Selection

SPQ3R is a reading strategy to help understand non-fiction texts. It involves surveying the text first by looking at titles, headings and images to predict what it will be about. The reader then asks questions about what they want to learn before reading. As they read, they look for answers to their questions and check their predictions. After reading, the strategy involves reciting what was learned and reviewing the questions, predictions and information to reinforce understanding.
