1. INTRODUCTION & PURPOSE

Perform proof rolling as directed.

Offset each trip of the roller by at most 1 tire width.

Operate proof rolling machine at a speed between 8-10 kilometres per hour or as directed by the S.O.

Proof rolling shall be carried out with proof rolling machine that have a weight of 50 tonnes. Tires shall be inflation pressures in between 0.5 N/mm to 0.7 N/mm.

Operate proof rolling machine in longitudinal direction and from lower to the higher edge.

The different settlement shall be measured with a long straight edge with the length similar to the width of the proof rolling machine.

If areas of subgrade upon proof rolling are found to be weak and/or fail, the area shall be demarcate and to be excavated to the depth of 600 mm and recompacted to required compaction by performing in situ CBR.
