modifications to the electrical system : 1996 Model Year range SINCE RPO No. 06749 UNTIL RPO No. 07113

1 Instrument panel
Removal of warning lamp : side and tail lamps. Operation : when the ignition is switched on , the instrument cluster doesn't light up when the parking lights are lit, the instrument cluster brightens up Electric speedometer ; the speed information is supplied by a "Hall" effect sensor.

2 Taximeter
The speed information is supplied by a "Hall" effect sensor. The mechanical outlet of the "Hall" effect sensor is obturated. Connecting of taximeter : it can be necessary to have mechanical information of the vehicle's speed use an old tachymetric sensor ; part number 6160 24 N.B. : The tachymetric pinion isn't sold with the sensor, to be recuperated on the vehicle.

3 Switch wiper selector switch


Concerns : trim level , VSX. The whiper's switch integrates : screen wiper delay timer rear window whiper screen wash (rear)

4 Coded anti-theft device (ADC)


New "ADC" keyboard (see note all "ADC" types) : introduction of key S : service (operation) mode deletion of key D /N or -Service (operation) mode : makes it possible to hand your vehicle to somebody without revealing your personal code. The "ADC" keyboard is provided with an autodiagnostic system, connected to the diagnostic socket. Operating procedure , service (operation) mode.

Switch on the ignition. Enter the user's code ( 4 -figure code). Press button S : audible beep (1). Introduce the service code ( 4 -figure code). Press button S : the green LED will flash 6 times with 6 audible beeps (2). Switch off the ignition : the red LED remains on, accompanied by 4 audible beeps (for 10 seconds) (3). To cancel the service mode : switch on the ignition . Enter the user's code.

N.B. : (1). No audible beep : the service mode is not allowed to go into service mode, the user's code must have been used once, at least close the vehicle start the whole process again N.B. : (2). Long audible beep period : the service mode is not allowed enter code C 0 C the green LED will flash 4 times with 4 audible beeps switch off the ignition start the whole process again N.B. : (3) occurs each time the ignition is switched off and as long as the service mode is activated.

5 Electrical harness
The electric wires of the main harnesses are marked in accordance with the logical precised in the brochure "ELECTRICITY".

6 Fuse box , in the passenger's compartment


The new fuse box enables the modification of the supply of permanent consumers : supply of permanent consumers with "+" battery : "customer" arrangement supply of permanent consumers with "+" after contact : "factory" arrangement N.B. : See evolution note ; "Preparation of New Vehicles".

7 Utilities box
Location : on the front left wheel arch. Evolutions :

8 Utilities box
New utilities box receiving micro relays (according to option). Functions : cruise control headlamp Location : left hand drive vehicles : in front left wheel arch right hand drive vehicles : in front right wheel arch Access : remove the mud shield.

9 Coupling of trailer
Applicable from RPO number : 6690. The trailer coupling harness is connected to a 4 paths connector, located behindthe right rear light. During connecting on 4 paths connector : cut, then isolate the wire connecting paths 1 and 3 of the connector on the vehicle's side. N.B. : If the trailer coupling and its harness have to be disassembled ; re-establish connection between paths 1 and 3 of the connector on the vehicle'sside.
