Traces of Grace
November 4, 2012 Dear Fellow Parishioners; By now I am sure you have heard of our diocesan purchase of the Crystal Cathedral Campus in central Orange County. As you may recall, the Crystal Cathedral Ministries were in bankruptcy and had to put their 35 acre campus up for sale. By good fortune (and a bit of the Holy Spirit), we were able to buy it at fire sale prices. We now have the possibility of transforming the campus into a Catholic Center. As a result of this amazing opportunity, our Diocese is undertaking its first ever Capital Campaign for the renovation of the Cathedral as well as the entire campus. You will be hearing more about this campaign in the weeks and months ahead, but please read the statement below carefully and contact our parish office by November 5 if you have a concern about our parish mailing list. We are still in the gathering of information stage and I encourage all of us to get on board for this significant historical moment in life of the Catholic Church. Together in Christ;
Fr. Steve Sallot Pastor During the coming months, every parishioner will be given an opportunity to learn more about the exciting plans for the future of our Diocese of Orange. We have much to look forward to as these plans include the beginning of the Year of Faith in October, the installation of our fourth Bishop of Orange in December, and the launch of our first Diocesan-wide capital campaign in 2013. To help us prepare and improve communications in all 62 parishes and centers, the Diocese of Orange is working in partnership with every pastor and the Orange Catholic Foundation to compile a mailing list of all Orange County parishioners. The mailing list will be used to inform parishioners about the For Christ Forever Capital Campaign, the Year of Faith activities planned in 2013, and other important matters in our Diocese. The mailing list will be used specifically for communications sent on behalf of the Bishop of Orange by the Orange Catholic Foundation and/or the Bishops office and will not be shared or used for other purposes. Please be advised that address information from our parish register will be sent to the Diocese of Orange on November 6th . Parishioners who prefer to have their address withheld from the Diocesan mailing list should contact Barbara Belavic at [email protected] by November 5th.
