Getting To The Pointe 11.2.12

The homeowners association newsletter provides updates on important issues in the neighborhood. It reminds residents to register their email addresses to receive timely communications and help reduce mailing costs. It announces the annual meeting in January and notes membership dues will remain the same for 2013. It asks for feedback on a proposal for residents to place luminaries on Christmas Eve. It addresses issues of vandalism, requiring post lamps to be lit at night, and protecting the neighborhood lake by not dumping grass clippings or other debris that could pollute the water.

REGISTER YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS

Please register your email address at www.devonshirepointe.drupalgardens.com. We cannot effectively communicate important HOA information, upcoming social events or safety concerns in a timely manner without an efficient means of contact. With the cost of postage increasing, we could save hundreds of dollars each year by eliminating the need to mail newsletters and flyers and be able to keep our membership dues low. We have asked numerous times but are only halfway to 100% cooperation. Please help us meet our goal and make the effort. Thank you!

ANNUAL MEETING
The Annual Devonshire Pointe Homeowners Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Harris Branch Library on Elm Road. Please RSVP your attendance so that we can prepare adequate seating. All homeowners are invited.

2013 MEMBERSHIP DUES

The Board of Governors has discussed the current expenditures and the projected needs for 2013 and has voted to keep the 2013 membership dues at the current rate of $225 for each lot owned. The additional lake lot dues will also remain at the current rate of $150.

SOCIAL EVENTS
There was a suggestion at our recent Board Meeting for residents to place luminaries on the curbs this Christmas Eve. We would need to have a high interest/participation level from our residents in order for us to move forward with this idea. If you are willing to commit to this event, please reply via the website by November 17, 2012 and our Social Committee will provide further information.

POST/YARD LAMPS
This summer, our neighborhood experienced its highest rate of mischief and vandalism. These activities caused destruction to our common areas and private property which we maintain for curb appeal and home value. Once again we must state that it is a requirement stipulated in Section 9 of the Covenants, Codes and Restrictions that All driveways shall be illuminated with a post lamp . . . to provide light from sundown to dawn. Keeping your post lamps lit will give a consistent look throughout the neighborhood, help drivers see people walking during the evening hours, and most importantly, help keep your home from being a target for vandals and mischief.

GRASS CLIPPINGS
We have reached a point concerning Lake Taddington that will impact all of us financially. We have made repeated requests that grass clippings, fertilizers, debris and other pollutants be eliminated through some very simple actions. Do not rinse the debris down the sewer system as it drains directly into the lake. Sweep or power blow and place the debris into a container for trash removal. There continues to be a lack of cooperation in this matter. ALL homeowners are asked to take steps to save our lake and mitigate corrective action expenses in the event the lake physically dies. If the appearance of this neighborhood and the value of your home matter to you, please take this situation seriously. Thank you.

The Devonshire Pointe Homeowners Association Board of Governors would like to thank you for your participation in our social events this year and look forward to seeing you at the Annual Meeting in January. We wish you a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
