Access and create local and Networked SQL/MSDE storage areas (check with your IT department for appropriate network permissions/privileges). See the System Requirements in the Release Notes and AccuMark Family CD for MSDE system requirements. Windows NT 4 users: must install SP6a and MDAC 2.8 Windows NT Server 4.0-based PC users connecting from a Windows NT 4.0based client computer using named pipes: install Windows NT 4.0 Patch for named pipes on server PC If you install MSDE, it is recommended to install: Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SQL Server Security Patch (see MS03-031 security bulletin) SVRNETCN.EXE - by default, network access to the MSDE database is disabled. The SQL Server Network Utility program will enable other PCs to access the MSDE database over the network. Use it to create informational presentations or record necessary steps when reporting hard to reproduce problems.
