Access and create local and Networked SQL/MSDE storage areas (check with your IT department for appropriate network permissions/privileges). See the System Requirements in the Release Notes and AccuMark Family CD for MSDE system requirements. Windows NT 4 users: must install SP6a and MDAC 2.8 Windows NT Server 4.0-based PC users connecting from a Windows NT 4.0based client computer using named pipes: install Windows NT 4.0 Patch for named pipes on server PC If you install MSDE, it is recommended to install: Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SQL Server Security Patch (see MS03-031 security bulletin) SVRNETCN.EXE - by default, network access to the MSDE database is disabled. The SQL Server Network Utility program will enable other PCs to access the MSDE database over the network. See MS03-031 security bulletin for further details. ______________________________________________________________________ Windows NT 4.0 Patch (enable PIPE_CREATE_INSTANCE for non-admin users) (Optional for SQL Server using Named Pipes on Windows NT systems) Connection to a Windows NT Server 4.0-based computer running either Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 using named pipes may produce the errors "Connection could not be established. SQL Server does not exist." or "Connection could not be established. Access is denied." Installing the Windows NT Server 4.0 patch to resolves this issue. You must install: EnhancedSecurityLevelNamedPipes adds a value to the Windows Registry to activate the update. ______________________________________________________________________ Microsoft Internet Explorer V6.0 SP1 (Required for AccuMark Family 8.0 and above) AccuMark Family CD requires at least Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 SP1 for properly displaying html components. ______________________________________________________________________ SnagIt V7.0.2 (Optional) Install SnagIt to create motion video movie files (AVI) of activity on your screen or individual screen snapshots. Use it to create informational presentations or record necessary steps when reporting hard to reproduce problems.
