Getting to the Pointe ...

February 2, 2013 Volume 13

A Publication of the Devonshire Pointe Homeowners Association

REGISTER YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS!!!!

Please register your email address at www.devonshirepointe.drupalgardens.com. We cannot effectively communicate important HOA information, upcoming social events or safety concerns in a timely manner without an efficient means of contact. Postage has once again increased and we could save hundreds of dollars each year by eliminating the need to mail newsletters and flyers and be able to keep our membership dues low. We have asked numerous times but are only halfway to 100% cooperation. Please help us meet our goal and make the effort. YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WILL BE USED FOR COMMUNICATION PURPOSES ONLY!

2013 MEMBERSHIP DUES

Statements for the 2013 Devonshire Pointe Homeowners membership dues will be mailed in February with an unchanged rate of $225 per lot owned. Lake lot maintenance dues will also remain unchanged at $150 per lot owned. The Board of Governors has made every effort to maintain the aesthetics of the subdivision while keeping operating costs contained.

SOCIAL EVENTS
This year, the Devonshire Pointe Homeowners Association would like to once again host an Easter Egg Hunt and 4th of July Bike Parade as well as the Annual Garage Sale. We would appreciate your participation and welcome your suggestions for additional neighborhood events. Please feel free to contact us at the website and consider volunteering your time and talents.

LIGHTS PLEASE!
Once again we must state that it is a requirement stipulated in Section 9 of the Covenants, Codes and Restrictions that All driveways shall be illuminated with a post lamp . . . to provide light from sundown to dawn. We continue to experience vandalism in our neighborhood and adjacent subdivisions. The St. Joseph County Sheriffs Department has indicated that one of the main deterrents to criminal activity and mischief is to keep your property well lit. Please help us keep our neighborhood safe.

LAKE TADDINGTON
We have made repeated requests that grass clippings, fertilizers, debris and other pollutants affecting Lake Taddington be eliminated through some very simple actions. We asked that you not allow the debris to drain into the sewer system but to sweep or power blow and place the debris into a container for trash removal. Numerous homeowners have continued to ignore our requests and we now have to face the very costly reality of the damage these pollutants have caused. Removal of the phosphorus buildup in the lake could cost in excess of $10,000 - an expense that will affect ALL Devonshire Pointe homeowners. In order to keep the centerpiece of the subdivision healthy, our dues low and our home values high, WE MUST ALL TAKE THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY!

On a personal note, I would like to thank the Officers, Board Members and volunteers for a very successful year. Much effort was made to keep maintenance costs contained and in many cases reduced. Social events were planned successfully with encouraging turnout. We have a strong, focused and active Homeowners Association. Lets continue to gain participation through the social events and enlist additional volunteers who can grow and strengthen the Association even further with your help and support! -President Heinz Mantel
