Automatic Save
It is a good idea to save your file periodically as you work
on it. By default, AutoCAD automatically saves your work
at 10-minute intervals under a name that is a combination
of the current filename plus a number and that ends with
the .sv$ filename extension; this is known as the Automatic
Save feature. Using settings in the Options dialog box or
system variables, you can change the name of the autosaved
file and control the time between autosaves.
To save a drawing automatically, follow the step as bellow:

3. Click [Folder Options] or Click [Appearance & Personalization]
and then Click [Folder Option].
4. Click [View] tab in Folder
Options dialog box.
5. Click [Files and Folders] box
in Advanced settings.
6. Select [Show hidden files
folders and drives] in [Hidden
files and folders] box.
7. Click OK.
8. Now, you can see your saving
file in your automatic save file
location.
Change the end of file name
from .sv$ to .dwg and open it.
This file location is often set as a hidden folder, so you
may need to set up Windows Explorer to display hidden
folders before you can get to the Automatic Save file.
If you use Window7, see the information on how to do this
as bellow:

1. Click [START] button of windows.

Controlling Shortcuts (Command Alias Definitions)
All the command shortcuts are stored in a file called Acad.pgp
in your system. ( C:\User\UserName\Application Data\Roaming
\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2007\R17.0\enu\Support folder)
By edting Acad.pgp in a text editor (such as Notepad) you can
modify existing command shortcuts(otherwise known as com-
mand aliases), remove, or add new ones.
To modify your drawing commands aliases,
follow the step as bellow:
1. To open the PGP file, on the Tools menu, click Customize
and then select Edit Program Parameters (acad.pgp).

2. Open the acad_Notepade, the file contains comment lines
preceded by a semicolon (;).
3. To define a command alias, add a line to the command alias
section of the acad.pgp file using the following syntax:
alias, *command
For example,
C, *CIRCLE
: you can enter c instead of circle to start the CIRCLE command.
MM, *MATCHPROP
: you can enter mm instead of matchprop to start the MATCH-
PROP command.
4. If you edit acad.pgp while AutoCAD is running, enter reinit
to use the revised file or restart AutoCAD.
Before you edit acad.pgp, create a backup so that you can restore it
later, if necessary. .
