2 Scene 1 - INT. Dark Room Complete darkness. Suddenly a light is turned on lighting the character from above. JOHN: You cant keep me here like this. Ive done nothing wrong An interviewer is out of shot but makes himself visible by placing a hand on the desk.

INTERVIEWER: We just want to know what happened John is visibly distressed. JOHN: Yeh? Well get your mate to fetch my cigarettes and Ill tell you everything. FADE Scene 2 EXT. Streets of London It is an empty suburban London street. John is walking to his car. He reaches the vehicle and receives a phone call. He answers the phone. JOHN: Hello? Johns partner Steve leaves the police building and is calling John from outside. It is louder and busier where he is. STEVE: Are you on your way mate? JOHN: Yeh just about to get in the car

3 STEVE: Alright good good. Ive just had my meeting. Just gave me a verbal warning. JOHN: Yeah? Well done mate, Ill be there in 10. STEVE: Make it 5 yeh? John hangs up and gets into his car. The car drives away leaving a trail of smoke. FADE SCENE 3 INT -

Inside a cluttered house there is loud music playing. In the kitchen the character is slicing at a large water melon with a knife. After he has tired himself out he leaves the knife stuck in the melon and checks the time on his phone. He then walks into the living room. He sits down on the sofa and assembles a package before leaving the house. SCENE 3 EXT Bob walks out of his house exiting the garden through a gate. He is visibly carrying the package. He walks away down the street en route somewhere unknown. SCENE 4 INT Johns car travelling. John is listening to a song on the radio and singing along while driving. He receives a phone call again, he answers. STEVE: Hello? Can you turn that racket down I cant hear myself think! John turns the music down

JOHN: Sorry princess, so whats up? Im nearly there! STEVE: Im waiting out in the road like a mug, just hurry up will you! He hangs up the phone JOHN: Im two minutes away mate.hello? He realises he has hung up, puts his phone away and continues driving. Steve awaits on a street corner for John to arrive. When he sees the car pulling up he walks across to get in. He enters the car and sits in the passenger seat next to John. JOHN: Alright chief good news then yeah? Steve reaches into his jacket pocket pulling out a bottle of whiskey planting it on the dashboard. STEVE: Good news mate, Im ready to celebrate. JOHN: You need to be careful. STEVE: Your worse than my missus, I aint got a problem alright!? JOHN:

5 Alright chill out, so what you got to tell me about this operation then? Steve reaches into his jacket again, this time pulling out a folder with pictures of suspects including information on them. STEVE: So were after the chief suspect in a series major incidents in the criminal underworld. His name is Anthony Wild He points to the image in the dossier STEVE: Our informant has been following his associates and has reason to believe there will be a delivery made today by this guy. He points to another photo of a criminal STEVE: Bob Jones, hes what you or me would call a lacky. Someone who does all the little jobs no one else wants to do. JOHN: So we just going to chase them down and make an arrest? Run in all guns blazing like POW POW! STEVE: Shut up you muppet, we are going to stake-out Anthony Wilds house and wait for it to go downthe soft approach. He reaches for the whiskey and takes a large swig. He puts it back on the dashboard. STEVE: What you waiting for then? Drive.

6 The car pulls away form the curb. They drive around a series of winding streets on the way to the potential destination. They barely speak to each other along the way. SCENE 4 EXT City streets Bob walks along the street carrying the parcel with him he passes a man sitting on a wall. As he passes the man pulls a phone out of his pocket and makes a call CONTACT: Yeah hes arriving to the house in about a couple of minutes. You nearly here? Steve is on the other line STEVE: Two minutes away, Ill make contact when we are in place. Steve hangs up the phone. The contact is seen following Bob from a great distance FADE EXT- Outside The house

The car pulls up outside the house. They are far enough away to seem inconspicuous but still have a good view. Inside the car John turns off the ignition and turns to Steve. EXT Inside The Car JOHN: So what now? STEVE: We wait.

7 Steve Picks up the bottle of whisky and takes a large swig. He spots something and taps Johns shoulder, pointing at what hes looking at. STEVE: There he is. Bob walks past their car on the other side of the road, knocks on the door and waits. He looks behind him but doesnt spot them in the car. The door is opened but only enough for him to have to push it open himself and enter.

INT Inside the criminals house Bob enters the house. It is visibly messy. In the living room in front of him is Anthony Wild. Anthony: Bring the bag in here. Bob walks into the living room and drops the bag on the table. Anthony opens it up and examines the contents. Pleased with what he sees he zips the bag up. Suddenly his expressions changes to that of someone puzzled. Anthony: So how did you get here? You drive? Bob: No I walked Anthony looks at him with a cold stare. He paces through to the room at the front of the house. He peers out of a curtain and sees the car waiting outside. EXT Inside the car John looks distressed. Steve has neared the end of his bottle of whisky as he takes another swig and places it

8 on the dashboard quickly as he has spotted the curtain twitch.

STEVE: Did you see that? JOHN: What?

STEVE: I think Im imagining things. JOHN: You need to lay off that stuff. STEVE: Shut it.

INT- Inside the house Anthony walks back into the living room slowly. ANTHONY: You were followed. BOB: No way, theres no way.

9 ANTHONY: Theres two door knockers outside in the car. EXT Inside the car Steves judgement has been compromised due to his consumption of alcohol. He lets out a sigh and reaches for something below his chair. This gets Johns attention and he looks at his partner confused. JOHN: What you doing? STEVE: Im going in. JOHN: Are you serious? What happened to the soft approach?? STEVE: Forget that! Im sick of this waiting about. He downs the rest of the whisky and throws it in the car, opens the door and exits. John shouts after him. JOHN: Your crazy!! Theyre Gonna kill you!!! EXT Outside the house Steve approaches the house at a pace with a police baton in his hand. He reaches the door and grabs the door handle. INT Inside the house

The door handle moves. Anthony and Bob are waiting. They look at each other and as the door opens and Steve enters they jump him, pulling his arms behind his back. Bob has a knife. Steve screams as they try to subdue him. ANTHONY: Yeah you gone and done it now mate, you dont mess with us. They lead him into a separate room and sit him in a chair. Bob keeps the knife in Steves eyes to make sure he doesnt try to escape. BOB: No sudden moves matey.

When they are finished tying him up they force his mouth open and drop a handful down his throat forcing him to swallow it with water. STEVE: What have you given me??

ANTHONY: Well you came for whats in the bag.so we gave it to you. BOB: (Smiling) yeah.enough to knock out an elephant.

11 Steve is sweating at this point and breathing heavily. His eyes begin to close and he passes out.

FADE EXT Inside The Car John is waiting nervously. It is clear from the light outside that some time has passed. He looks at his phone a series of times and cant keep still. Eventually he pulls up a number and calls. JOHN: Hello? Yeah? Its all gone wrong, I dont know what to do and Steves been in there too long. I need back-up its over!! He hangs up the phone and throws it on the floor. He grabs his head in his hands. He stays in the car for a minute just looking in the windows and behind him. Unsure of what to do with himself. INT Inside The House Steve is barely conscious. All around him are shapes and sounds. He hears voices and echoes fluttering past him. His own voice is heard asking for help but no one seems to answer. He faintly sees his attackers for a moment but they disappear from his vision. Suddenly everything goes dark and there is silence. FADE John walks through the front door. There is no one around and it is eerily quiet. He sneaks through the corridor carefully. He seems frustrated that he cant find his partner. When he reaches another door he puts his head up to the side of it. When he hears nothing he decides to shout something.

JOHN: Theres no point in doing anything stupid, we have backup on the way! Sirens are heard approaching. JOHN: See! Hear that?? You screwed lads! Nothing you can do!! He slams the door open. He Steve in a chair, tied up and facing away from him. He walks towards him and when he reaches him he shakes him. Steves head falls back and it is obvious he is dead. John walks away and is sick. The sirens are approaching and getting louder. John looks distraught. FADE INT Interview Room John looks down and then takes a drag on a cigarette. JOHN: So thats what happened. I wish I could have saved him. But in the end it was his own drink problem which killed him. So now thats all done.can I leave? A piece of paper is thrown on the desk with sign here written at the bottom. John looks at it, grabs a pen and signs.
