1.0 Introduction This document is a guide to what is to be included in the training course. This is to be an outline of what the document covers and should be no more than 1 paragraph detailing the actual training program that shall be provided for each training course covering both the classroom (theoretical) and on-the-job (hands-on) phases.
1.1 System Description This sub-section details the following:
Suitable information for the system or services covered by the manual Cross-referencing with Specification Section 01820 - Demonstration and Training for details & compliance
1.2 Purpose It discusses the learning objective and teaching outline that will be detail on each section to aid the contractors in developing their documents to be written in English language.
1.3 Schedule of Equipment Please add a complete schedule of the equipment that is covered in this module including details and location. 1.4 Employer & Project Requirements This sub-section mentions that the Employer will nominate staff to receive training. Such trainees may be expected to be familiar with the fundamental concepts of the operation and maintenance of similar systems and be basically qualified in both written and spoken English. Each trainee will be designated by the Employer in one of the three categories (trainee, supervisor-trainee, or instructor-trainee) for operations, maintenance, or computer software training.

2.0 Training 2.1 General Training Requirements
Detail all dependencies that are required to enable training to commence. Training shall be performed in accordance with an approved training program. 2.2 Training Module Content
Develop a learning objective and teaching outline for each module. Include a description of specific skills and knowledge that participant is expected to master. For each module, include instructions for the following:
1. Basis of system design, operational requirements and criteria.
System, subsystem and equipment descriptions. Performance and design Operating standards. Regulatory requirements Equipment function. Operating characteristics. Performance curves.
2. Documentation: List any relevant corresponding documentation:
Operations & Maintenance Manuals Warranties and bonds Maintenance service agreements and similar continuing commitments.
3. Emergencies: Include the following as applicable:
Instructions on meaning of warnings, trouble indications and error messages. Instructions on stopping. Shutdown instructions for each type of emergency. Operating instructions for conditions outside of normal operating limits. Sequences for electric or electronic systems. Special operating instructions and procedures.
4. Operations: Include the following, as applicable:
Start-up procedures. Equipment or system break-in procedures. Routine and normal operating instructions.

Regulation and control procedures. Control sequences. Safety procedures. Normal shutdown instructions. Operating procedures for emergencies. Operating procedures for system, subsystem, or equipment failure. Seasonal and weekend operating instructions. Required sequences for electric or electronic systems. Special operating instructions and procedures.
5. Adjustments: Include the following:
Alignments. Checking adjustments. Noise and vibration adjustments. Economy and efficiency adjustments.
6. Troubleshooting: Include the following:
Diagnostic instructions Test and inspection procedures
7. Maintenance: Include the following:
Inspection procedures. Types of cleaning agents to be used and methods of cleaning. List of cleaning agents and methods of cleaning detrimental to Product. Procedures for routine cleaning. Procedures for preventive maintenance. Procedures for routine maintenance. Instruction on use of special tools.
8. Repairs: Include the following
o Diagnosis Instructions o Repair Instructions o Disassembly; component removal, repair and replacement; and reassembly instructions. o Instructions for identifying parts and components. o Review of spare parts needed for operation and maintenance.
2.3 Training Personnel and Key Technical Assistance
Detail who will be carrying out the training, include CVs.

2.4 Training Room and Requirements
This sub-section detail all the requirements needed and will be used to set up instructional equipment at the instruction location such as digital projector, screen, whiteboard, printed materials, notepads, pens & etc. 2.5 General Details
This sub-section details all the requirements such as:
Training Proficiency - detail the written, oral and practical performance tests to determine each trainees proficiency level at designated intervals during the course of training. Training Completion - detail the description or method (s) to be used to certify trainees upon satisfactory completion of the training, it shall be certified, in writing, that each trainee, by name, is qualified to operate or maintain the system, supervise or instruct, as applicable Make-up Instruction - details the make-up instruction that shall be scheduled to accommodate shift work and authorized absences.
3.0 Employer Requirements 3.1 Trainee Types, Numbers & Availability The Employer shall be responsible for:
Providing a list of the levels of management, operator and maintenance personnel required for the training programs Providing the numbers of trainees for each course as referred to above

Confirmation of and arrangements for the trainees to be made available in accordance with the Training Program. Confirming that all trainees, nominated for the courses are of adequate proficiency and education levels as required by the trainers. Ensuring that security passes for all nominated and accepted trainees, (for all areas as required) are applied for, approved and issued prior to any training.
3.2 Dynamic Commissioning Period On a project of this magnitude invaluable site knowledge can be learnt during the commissioning period, from location of plant & Sub-Systems to system operation and alarm handling. We would strongly recommend that the trainees start their development as part of the commissioning team and are involved during the entire commissioning process.

4.0 Sample Questionnaires This section shall provide sample questionnaires and practical test of general knowledge of the training proficiency.

5.0 Training Schedule This sub-section shall detail the schedule of proposed dates, times, number of hours from start of course to trainee certification and including the instructors' names for each training module. Describe also the ratio of training and technical personnel to trainees for both classroom and on site phases of each course.
