Answer task:
Watching Sicko I understood better how the health care system functions in the US. There is a list with the issues that the American system has it when is to treat their patients: -50 million Americans are not insured because they cant afford or because they were denied to be insured. The reasons are starting from being too fat or being too thin or because they had pre-existing medical conditions. -when a patient is denied to receive support for treatment from the health insurance company means that the company maximizes its profits, spends less money and their saving are increasing.
-health insurance companies are hiring a hitman, when the spending for a certain patient are increasing, in order to get the money back by finding pre-existing medical conditions and to cancel the insurance. -health insurance companies care more about the money than the peoples lives, their principle is: less money to give more money to make. -health insurance companies bribed members of the US Congress to make laws in their favor. -other countries as Canada, France, Great Britain, Cuba are given as examples where the free universal health care system works very well and the peoples lives are treated properly and respected. -in the countries where there is a socialized medicine, people that are better of pay for the people that are worse of (different systems: American individualism versus solidarity). -in the US patients that are not able to pay for their treatments are thrown out of the hospital and there are cases when the hospitals pay for a taxi to drop off the patients at no address. -if the health care in the US cost few thousand dollars per year in Cuba is only $251 and provides one of the best health care for the people even though Cuba is considered one of the worlds poor country. The US is one of the richest country from the world and is an economical, technological and political power but when the government has to treat its own people, once again, the money and the companies wealth are more important. What can be done? American people should take as example the French people that every time when the government disrespects their right they are protesting, they are fighting for their rights. The American people should stop being just taxpayers and become a nation where solidarity units them together and all the peoples li ves (from very poor to very rich) are respected as well. Unhealthy and demoralized people can be easily controlled. When people are facing the death they dont have the freedom to choose. Democracy and capitalist supposed to give peoples freedom! What happened to American democracy and American dream? They transformed in nightmare even for themselves!
