You are required to submit an assignment and present on the topic chosen from the following list.

Topic Economics Global trade

Date of presentation April 3, 8

Deadline for submission March 20

April 10, 15

Your presentation will take place on the dates mentioned above in your class room.

Goal
Your goal is to find an article in a newspaper/magazine that relates to your chosen topic. The article must have been published on or after July 1, 2012. Pick an interesting article. Please note that this is an introductory-level business course; so, refrain from using articles that refer to topics outside the scope of your course; also, please do not use articles that do not have much to do with business. Submit a print out or a Xeroxed copy of the article to me in class.

Deadline for submitting the article: February 20th (at the beginning of class).

You can search a local English-language newspaper (the Daily Star, the Financial Express), international dailies (the New York Times, the Herald Tribune), an international financial daily (the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times) or international magazines (Forbes, Fortune, Harvard Business Review, Time Magazine, the Economist, the New Yorker, Newsweek and BusinessWeek) to find your article. The NSU library is a great source of information; you could also browse the website of the above-mentioned sources to find the article. If you would like to use a source other than the one mentioned above, you MUST inform me before February 20th.

Assignment
Please explain how the article you have chosen relates to the topic of your choice. Discuss the relevance and meaningfulness of the article. Do not quote elaborately from the article or from your textbook. Limit your discussion to 500 words. (+/ 10%)

You have to type your assignment and submit a print out of your work. This hardcopy will be graded and returned to you. Please submit the hardcopy of your assignment at the BEGINNING of the class when it is due. Late submissions will not be accepted. Your assignment must be typed and stapled, and must include your name, ID and section number at the top of the first page. Please do NOT use cover pages, folders etc.

Deadline for submitting your assignment is March 20 th (at the beginning of class).

Presentation
Your presentation will be based on your assignment. You are expected to present for at most 7 (seven) minutes; five minutes is the absolute minimum and anything below five minutes means you will score zero. You are required to use the overhead projector to enhance the presentation. Email the PowerPoint file to [email protected] by March 20th. Late submissions will not be accepted. Your presentation will take place in your class room during class time. The schedule is mentioned on the following page.

Email me a copy of the presentation in MS PowerPoint format by March 20th. Send the files to [email protected].

Late submissions will NOT be accepted. No make-up assignments or presentations will be allowed.
