News From Room 207: Important Dates
Week of 3/27/13 I hope you had time to stop by the Spring Street Fun Fair today. I was with my son this weekend for a scout ski trip at Sunday River and I am looking forward to hearing all about the Fair at our Monday morning meeting. We have a very busy week ahead of us with three days of MCAS. On Monday, we have our Long Composition test. Your children will be asked to complete a writing piece based on a prompt. On Wednesday and Thursday, we have our English Language Arts test. Your children will be reading from a variety of genres and then answering multiple choice and open response questions to demonstrate their depth of understanding for what they have read. Please be sure your child is well rested, on time for school and that he/she has a water bottle and a healthy snack for all test days. We would love donations of mini water bottles and ice for test days. It will be nice for the children to have a treat. Sugar-free gum is also welcome. There will be no homework on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights of this week due to MCAS. My hope is that your children will be able to relax and play outside after a long day of hard work. I am looking forward to a great week. Warmly, Sandra Travers
