Dynamic Threshold of PDCHs

This parameter refers to the maximum percentage of timeslots (TSs) in a cell that can be used as packet data channels (PDCHs), including both static and dynamic PDCHs. If no static PDCHs are configured, then the threshold only applies to dynamic PDCHs. For example, with a 30% threshold in a 29 TS cell, a maximum of 9 TSs could be used as PDCHs, with 7 being available for dynamic allocation if 2 are static. The uplink and downlink thresholds for dynamic channel conversion should be less than the PDCH uplink/downlink multiplex thresholds to allow timely conversion and reduce overload.

There is one parameter in Huawei Inner PCU (Maximum Ratio of Threshold of PDCHs in a cell).

Its value is in percentage (default =30%). What does this parameter mean? Is it for static or dynamic Data TSs? This parameter is used to restrict the %age of TSs that can be used as PDCHs (Both static and Dynamic). Consider a typical 4TRX cell with 1BCCH and 2 SDCCHs. Then: Total Number of TSs that can be used for Traffic (Voice/Data) = 4*8-3 =29 Now, if your maximum Ratio Threshold of PDCHs in cell is 30 for this cell, then: Maximum no. of PDCHs = 0.3* 29 =8.7. This means that a maximum of 9 TSs in this cell can be used as PDCHs. This also means that if you are having 2 Static PDCHs, then you can have a maximum of 7 Dynamic PDCHs. As far as I know, for Static TS I should add PDTCH to Channel Type. If I dont have any PDTCH TS in a cell, and Maximum Ratio Threshold of PDCH is 30%, what would this means? Is there any Static TS in 30% if I have not added PDTCH to TRX This threshold applies to the sum of all PDCHs wheth er Static or Dynamic. If you dont have any static PDCHs (PDTCH TSs) in a cell, then this threshold will only apply to the dynamic PDCHs. That is, a maximum of 30% of TCHs in that cell that can be used as Dynamic PDCHs. If you want to go for multi-slot, then you need to go for more than 30%. Uplink Multiplex Threshold of Dynamic Channel Conversion It means that Uplink multiplex threshold of Dynamic Channel Conversion. When the subscriber number on the channel reaches the value (threshold/10), the dynamic channel conversion application is triggered. The value is recommended to be less than PDCH Uplink Multiplex Threshold for triggering converting dynamic channel in time and reducing PDCH multiplex. GUI Range: 10-70, Actual Range: 10-70, Recommended Value: 70 Downlink Multiplex Threshold of Dynamic Channel Conversion It means that DL multiplex threshold of dynamic Channel Conversion. When the subscriber number on the channel reaches the value (threshold/10), the dynamic channel conversion is triggered. It is recommended that the value of Downlink Multiplex Threshold of Dynamic Channel Conversion should be less than PDCH Downlink Multiplex Threshold for triggering converting dynamic channel in time and reducing PDCH multiplex. GUI Range: 10-80, Actual Value Range: 10-80, Recommended Value: 80 PDCH Uplink Multiplex Threshold It means that PDCH uplink multiplex threshold indicating the maximum TBFs on the Uplink PDCH (parameter value/10). It is recommended that the value of Uplink Multiplex Threshold of Dynamic Channel Conversion should be less than PDCH Uplink Multiplex Threshold for triggering converting dynamic channel in time and reducing PDCH multiplex. GUI Range: 10-70, Actual Value Range: 10-70, Recommended Value: 70
