Vineyard Mission Rwanda: by Tom Zawacki
by Tom Zawacki
This past Sunday we were blessed to have Patrick and Valerie Finnerty with us to discuss their East African missionary efforts in the Republic of Rwanda. In December 2005, following a call from God, the Finnerty family was sent out with the blessing of their home church the Halifax Metro Vineyard. Rwandans desperately need to experience the love of God. Three decades of ethnic tensions between Hutu and Tutsi have cause enormous pain and suffering culminating in the genocide of nearly one million men women and children. Though progress has been made to bring about peace and reconciliation, much remains to be done.
Muyange Vineyard
Vineyard church plants in Muyange, the Byumba area, north-east of Kigali and the Kibungo area of south eastern Rwanda are just the beginning of Patrick and Valeries missionary efforts. Their Secondary School Sponsorship Program is training and equipping young men and their Ibyishimo Sewing Group is empowering women to provide for their families - with dignity.
