POPULATION In Sicily there is a mixture of population, more of these are different to the population of the north of the Italy,

for this reason and for the different economic condictions in Italy north and sud are considered almost different country, and more in the past there was racism, the men of the nord called farmer in a derogatory form the southern people, and the men of the sud called polentoni(in romanian mamaligari) the northest people. The southern people was looked by the northest as thieves and gangsters. The ancient remains remarks the presence in the past of sicani, greeks, and romans, and you can see the trace of arabian, there are some sounds that seems a little with arabian music, and at 1500 was a
language speak in Sicily called, sicilian-arabic, that was a arabian dialect. The sicilian dialect, is different to italian language, there are words that seems with french, italian, spanish, romanian, and arabic In sicily are produced more good wines, and the specialities of food are some sweets, but there are more good meals, there are more good fish meals

PROBLEMS Mafia: the most dangerous mafious associations are in Italy, and Cosa Nostra, the sicilian mafia are one of these, it has a lot of money, ( its esteemed that have earnings more big that a country), and make more disgusting actions, for exemple with drugs, rate of protection, and a lot of illegal affairs, unfortunately more politician have links with mafia, and help them. And many people are scarred, Dont see, dont hear, dont speak In the ancient there was archimede, of Siracusa, and empedocle, and many other important people of the greek cultur, now the most important people of this island were Falcone, Borsellino, and more people that dedicated their life to fight against the mafia, and at the end they were killed. Peppino Impastato was a young sicilian man, he was the son of a mafious, but he wanted to revolt, at the began he made some articles against the mafia, and tried to diffuse his ideas, but was very difficult and he made a free radio station called radio aut, he talks about all made the mafia of his small village, Cinisi, and of sicily. At 1978 he ran for the election as mayor of Cinisi, but the mafious man badalamenti killed Peppino. His father at the begin dropped out of the house his son, but at the end he talk that if mafia wanted to kill peppino must to kill he before, and he was killed begin the die of peppino. Peppino he was hit several times, also with a stone, and dragged to the railroad tracks, and detonated, but police talk that was suicide. Only at 2002 badalamenti was sentenced to life imprisonment. Sicily have a special statute, its part of Italy but have more amministrative and executive power. Its a very hot island at the summer, there is temperature to 45 C and the problem of drought, and at the spring and the autumn there is a temperate climate, also at winter the temperature decrease under 10 C
