SAP LSMW Tutorial with Steps to create

The full form of LSMW is Legacy System Migration Workbench. As the name specifies its a tool in SAP for migrating the legacy data to SAP system. LSMW is the transaction code used to start. Commonly used importing technology in LSMW are

In this tutorial we describes about the steps involved in creating an LSMW project for migrating the legacy data. In LSMW we are doing the things in a step by step procedure and the next step screen will be automatically displayed after very step. Here are the steps involved in LSMW Here is the screen shot of LSMW initial screen

Step 1: Maintaining Object Attributes Here we are specifying about the project, subproject, object and importing technology (like batch input, IDOC etc.)

Choose maintain object attribute from the LSMW steps screen Choose Change Specify the Object Specify the nature of data transfer that one time or periodic. Select the object type and import technique.

Step 2: Maintaining the source structures Here we define the structure of source.

Choose maintain the source structure from the LSMW steps screen Choose Change Point your mouse on Source Structures Choose Create Structure Enter the name and description for the structure Choose Continue

Step 3: Maintaining Source Fields After the creation of structure in step 2, in this step we are going to define each field in that structure.

Choose maintain source fields from the LSMW steps screen Choose Change Point your mouse on the Source Structure where we are going to add fields. Choose Create Field. Enter the field name, text, length and type Choose Continue

Step 4: Maintaining Structure Relationship Here we specify the relationship between the SAP structures and the source structures created in step 2.

Choose maintain structure relationship from the LSMW steps screen Choose Change Point your mouse on the SAP structure ID. Choose Relationship. Point your mouse on the corresponding source structure. Choose Continue Choose check for finding any errors in relationship.

Step 5: Maintaining Field mapping and Conversion Rules The mapping between SAP structure fields and source structure fields, and conversion rule is specifying in this step. Instead of manual mapping, auto field mapping option is also available.

Choose maintain field mapping and conversion rule from the LSMW steps screen Choose Change Choose extras -> auto field mapping Choose the appropriate options

Step 6: Maintaining Fixed Values, Conversions and User-Defined Routines Specifying the conversion rules for processing data. Here we specify the fixed values etc.

Choose maintain field mapping and conversion rule from the LSMW steps screen Point the mouse on the field where we want to add rule Choose insert rule The rules list will display. Select the rule. Set the indicator Choose Continue

The normal available rules are 1. Initial 2. Constant 3. Transfer (MOVE) 4. Fixed Value (Reusable) 5. Translation (reusable) 6. Prefix 7. Suffix 8. Concatenation 9. Left trim 10. ABAP coding 11. User-defined routine Step 7: Specifying files In this step we will specify the files used for the migration.

Choose Specifying the files from the LSMW steps screen Enter file name, description and other settings

Step 8: Assigning files Here we assign the specified files to the corresponding source structure.

Choose Assign files from the LSMW steps screen Choose change Point the mouse on a structure Choose Assign file Select the corresponding file Press Continue

Step 9: Importing Data In this step press execute to read the data from source. Step 10: Displaying Imported Data In this step choose continue to display the data that has been read. Step 11: Converting Data In this step choose execute to transfer the read to the file of converted data. Step 12: Display Converted Data In this step choose execute to display the converted data. Depending on the importing technology specifies in step 1. The next steps may have. Step 13: Create batch input session Step 14: Run batch Input Session. SAP Remuneration Statement How to create and Display steps

SAP Remuneration Statement refers to the pay slip for the employee and it contains the all the payments and deductions data in a clear format. In this tutorial you will get the step by step procedures for how to create a Remuneration Statement and how to display a Remuneration Statement. Create a Remuneration Statement 1. Take the menu path Human Resources Payroll Europe Germany Payroll Remuneration Statement (This path will be different according to your region, here it refers Germany). Or enter the transaction code PC00_M01_CEDT directly. 2. Now we need to enter the values for the following fields. (Here sample data is shown) 1. Payroll area: D2 2. Current period: Select 3. Personnel number: 1051 3. Choose EXECUTE button or press F8 key 4. Take the menu List Print. 5. Now we need to enter the values for the following fields (You can watch sample data here). 1. Printer: The name of your printer 2. Number of copies: 1 3. Number of pages Print all: Select 4. Spool options Print immediately: Select 6. Choose CONTINUE 7. Choose BACK button or press F3 key until we get the overview tree. Display Remuneration Statement 1. Take the menu path Human Resources Payroll Europe Germany Payroll Start Payroll (This path will be different according to your region, here it refers Germany). Or enter the transaction code PC00_M01_CALC directly. 2. We need to enter the values for the following fields. 1. Payroll period Payroll area: D2 2. Payroll period Current period: Select 3. Selection Personnel number: 1051 4. Selection Payroll area: D2 3. In the Remuneration Statement Parameters section, select F4 help for Display Variant 4. Remuneration Statement field. 5. In the dialog box choose SAP&CALC and press COPY button. 6. Choose CONTINUE button and then EXECUTE button. 7. Now the remuneration statement is displayed on the screen. Press BACK button or F3 key until we get the overview tree.

Check SAP Payroll Results Step by step processes


Here are the step by step processes for checking the Payroll results in SAP.

1. Take the menu Human Resources -> Payroll -> Europe -> Germany -> Tools -> Display Results or enter the transaction code PC_PAYRESULT. (The menu path will be different according to your region, here its for Germany) 2. Enter the corresponding data for the following fields 1. Personnel number 2. All results from 3. Choose CONTINUE button. 4. Mark the line with the current payroll result and choose Display Results button. 5. From the list of displayed Payroll tables, select the following tables using CTRL button. 1. WPBP 2. RT 3. CO 4. C1 6. Choose Display Results button. 7. Take the menu path System -> List -> Find 8. Enter the data for the following fields (Here you can see sample data) 1. Find: M140 2. Starting at current line: De-select 3. Only on current page: De-select 9. Then choose FIND button (Or press CTRL + F) 10. In the dialog box choose the line M140 and choose NEXT LAYOUT button (Or press CTRL + F8) 11. Now we can see the wage type, amount, name etc. 12. Choose the BACK button (or press F3) till we are getting the overview tree.

Executing a Payroll run Step by Step processes


Here are the step by step processes for executing a Payroll run in SAP HR. 1. Take the menu Human Resources -> Payroll -> Europe -> Germany -> Payroll -> Release Payroll or enter the transaction code PC00_M99_PA03_RELEA. (The menu path will be different according to your region, here its for Germany) 2. Above Payroll area enter D2 in the dialog box and choose YES 3. Take the menu Select Start Payroll or enter the transaction code PC00_M01_CALC 4. Fill the following fields with data. Here a sample data is shown. o Payroll period Payroll area: D2 o Selection Personnel number: 1051 o Selection Payroll area: D2 5. Choose CONTINUE button and then choose EXECUTE button (Or press F8). 6. Now in the status line a message with Payroll is running will appear and a display log tree screen will also appear. 7. In the log check the following fields for evaluating your payroll runs. o Selected personnel numbers o Successful o Number of periods o Rejected

Total number of messages and error messages 8. Choose BACK button (Or press F3) and Choose YES button on the dialog box.

Payroll Results transferring to FI/CO module


Here are the step by step procedures for transferring payroll results to FICO for book keeping and other purposes. 1. Take the menu path Human Resources Payroll Europe Germany Sub sequent Activities Per Payroll Period Reporting Posting to Accounting Create Posting Run (path will be different according to your regions, here it refers Germany) or enter the transaction code PC00_M99_CIPE. 2. Fill the data for the following fields (Sample data is shown here) 1. Payroll period Payroll area: D2 2. Payroll period Current period: Select 3. Selection Personnel number: 1051 4. Selection Payroll area: D2 5. Run attributes Type of document creation: S (Creation of simulation documents) 3. Choose CONTINUE then EXECUTE buttons on the screen. 4. Choose Document overview 5. In the Document column, double click on the posting number (This number will be shown in the previous step of Document overview). 6. In the Account Number with Text column, double click on the item 176000 7. Again double click on the account number 176000 with Personnel number 1051. 8. Choose BACK button or Press F3 key, till we get the posting document. 9. In that screen Double-click the G/L account 430000 Salaries with the CO account assignment CCtr 2100. 10. Again choose BACK button or press F3 key till we get the screen for Posting to Accounting: Document Overview. 11. Press icon to release the document. 12. Choose BACK button or press F3 key till we get the overview tree. Note: Releasing of documents will be available in a live payroll run
