Job Description

Job Title: Salary: Hours of Work: Responsible to: Responsible for: Job Purpose: A) To provide creative and effective communication, marketing and information solutions to maximise the income raised from VAR services and activities, and to raise the profile of the VCS. B) To oversee the development and implementation of the VAR marketing plan and ensure that the overall objectives are met. C) To assist with the provision of a marketing and communication function for the LINKs Team (1 day per week) Main Duties and Responsibilities: 1. To advise and assist on the development of marketing plans prepared by teams and to aggregate them into the VAR marketing and communication plan. 2. Manage and promote internal and external communications in line with the agreed plan. 3. Develop and implement a communications guide for staff in line with the corporate image, monitor and review as necessary and support staff in its use. 4. To ensure that the marketing and communication resources are used effectively and consistently to enable additional income to be raised from services and activities 5. Advise on the design, writing and production of publicity and promotional material, and ensure consistency of branding and produce materials as required 6. Oversee the use of external agencies used in the promotion of VARs marketing and communication activity. 7. Deliver news releases to the media and other appropriate external agencies, and act as a principal point of contact for media enquiries for VAR Marketing and Communications Officer S01 Grade 21 hours Director of Enterprise and Services N/A

8. Assist the editorial group for Rotherham News to raise the profile of the VCS. 9. Developing new, creative and innovative ways to enable and support communication and information sharing in the voluntary and community sector and with other sectors 10. To assist in the management, organisation and delivery of VAR events, and support projects to promote, organise and run events specific to their project 11. As appropriate and in proportion to the budget allocations, the above duties will be performed for the LINKs Team Whilst every effort has been made to outline all the main duties and responsibilities of the post, a document such as this does not permit every item to be specified in detail. Also the post holder may, from time to time, be asked to undertake other reasonable duties commensurate with the grading of the post.
