MONDAY week #1

NV State Social Studies Standard H1.3.3- Learn about individuals around the world and discuss their contributions.

NV State Social Studies Standard H1.3.3A- Learn about current or past individuals around the world and discuss their contributions.

Make K/W/L chart ahead of time. Dont forget to set up the youtube video for the music. Make sure you have enough books for 25 students.

WEDNESDAY week #1

This lesson plan is designed for 3rd grade students to learn about the Northwest Coastal Indians culture and how they adapted to their surroundings.

For reading and information students will be using their book: Tools of Native Americans: A kids Guide to the History and Culture of the First Americans.

H1.3.2- Using artifacts and primary sources, and investigate how individuals and families contributed to the founding and development of the local community. H1.3.3- Learn about individuals around the world and discuss their contributions
NV State Social Studies Standard G6.3.3- Identify ways people express their culture. Student Friendly Standard I can learn how other communities expressed their culture.

Dont forget to print out 25 Totem Pole activity sheets. Also take out crayons, construction paper, glue and scissors.

This history lesson plan is designed for 3rd grade students to learn about the Cherokee Indians culture and their living conditions. The information for this lesson was found on the Internet and in a text book

Make sure there are enough textbooks for all 25 students. Make sure there is enough construction paper and markers for the class.

This lesson plan is designed for 3rd grade students to provide an overview of the many different crafts Native Americans used to express their culture. This lesson uses pages 61-72 from Tools of Native Americas: A kids guide to the History and culture of the first Americans.

Nevada State Social Studies Standard H1.3.2- Using artifacts and primary sources, and investigate how individuals and families contributed to the founding and development of the local community. Student Friendly Standard I can study artifacts and their meaning to learn about other cultures.

Make sure there are enough textbooks for all 25 students. Make sure you have enough craft kits and supplies for craft activity.
