Introduction
The GS Standard Security Design Software Package is a modular system of graphic applications. The elements of this system can be used in several combinations, providing a flexible solution for the needs of any standard security pre-press design system. GS Core The main standard level graphic security application, also can be used for hosting the other software options listed below: they can be used as plug-ins in GS Core.

GS Legacy GS Legacy is an optional plug-in module for GS Core, for creating Guilloche design elements easily and quickly. GS Screenphony GS Screenphony is an optional plug-in module for GS Core, containing easy-to-use security screening methods targeted primarily for standard security companies. GS XeroShield GS XeroShield is an optional plug-in module for GS Core, for creating anti-photocopy patterns.

Special features in general

Particularly hig h precision data processing & accuracy Internal data processing is much higher than usual. 0.001 mm intervals are easily defined. Linewidth can be as fine as 0.0001 mm (equals 0.1 m). Movements or position difference can be as small as 0.00001 mm (equals 0.01 m). The whole design artwork is created with the highest possible accuracy, 100% precision from creating elements up to finalize the design artwork. V ector and pixel data processing , large file processing Both vector and pixel graphics can be imported, created, edited and exported. Conversion between these formats, and retouching is possible. Handling scanned high resolution pixel graphic files from line work, halftone or continuous tone images, in several formats. Processing large files effectively. Speed optimization and fast save in binary format is included. U nlimited undo & history, real -time operation Correcting mistakes up to unlimited number of last operations, even back to the very first operation step. Undo marks can be set for easy navigation between operation stages. A separate History Window shows the list of operation steps. The steps can be renamed for easier remembering. Special modifications are provided by unique Super objects with editable individual creation history. GS software execute commands immediately real-time. U nlimited zoom & measuring , full preview & multiple views Infinite magnification of any portions of the design artwork, together with View marking and Zoom undo.

 Measuring distances, angles and lengths/areas precisely. Improved view modes from draft to full color preview with dual monitor capabilities. Multiple views can be set for the same artwork at the same time. Window position marking is possible. Compatibility, importing -exporting file formats The design system is able to use files created on other systems by other software. The system is also able to export files to other systems and software. Native formats: GS Layout 3.0 (GLT, GLB); GS Engraver 3.0 (GET, GEB); GS Vector (GSV only with GS Vector Premium installed); GS InkChooser (INK). Known supported formats: Illustrator 7.0 (AI); Encapsulated Postscript 3.0 (EPS only output); Tagged Image Format 6.0 (TIF), AutoCAD 12.0 (DXF only output); Windows bitmap (BMP); JPEG File Interchange format (JPG); Portable Document Format (PDF).

Finalizing design artwork, coloriz ation , printing GS design system is able to make a total composition, to arrange the elements of the design artwork onto layers, to name elements, to make grouping and masking, and to finalize the digital montage. Outputs in standard PostScript Level 2 and 3, and PDF v1.4. Handling several color information including BW, Grayscale, RGB, CMYK, LAB and 1 to 12 color N-Separated. Uncoated and Coated Pantone colors are included. It is possible to send the digital information of the design to both PostScript and non-PostScript printers (ink-jet or laser printer) to get fast results on paper. P rotection against unaut h orised data access Multi-level data protection is provided, including the operating system password, a hardware-dependent software license and a hardware key. O nline help & tutorial Software Manual is available on the screen. Tutorial example files are included on the hard disk. 64-bit version Besides 32-bit version all GS software products has a 64-bit version that is ready to run in the latest operating system. The 64-bit versions process bigger amount of data (without memory limitiation) and work faster, compared to 32-bit versions.

GS Core
Introduction
Complete standard grap h ic security application GS Core is Juras standard level pre-press design software originating from the flagship GS Layout Plus to create and compose elements and finalize up-to-date graphic artworks of security documents. It also serves as a host application for optional software plug-ins developed focusing on the most common requirements of standard security printing. It processes very effectively the main categories of computer graphics bitmap images and vector objects and provides standard output: PostScript, 1-bit TIFF and PDF.

Features
In addition to the most important general features detailed on page 68, GS Core contains numerous tools with the following functionality: Drawing and typing Making sketches, creating draft designs on screen similarly to drawing on paper, and drawing elements. Using freehand tools or generating with the machine. Direct text entering. Backgrounds Covering surfaces, filling areas. Rapid, user adjustable production of security patterns, linescreens, reliefs, etc. Selection Separating portions of the artwork, by free hand or automated processes, to be edited or replaced, while protecting the other parts against any alterations. Transformation Changing position, size, shape and orientation. Image transformations. Distortion Line width modulations, 2D & 3D transformations. Regular and irregular deformations. Colorization - Colorizing objects. Distributing elements on virtual printing plates. Color calibration possiblities.

 Composition - Organizing the graphic elements to compose the final design artwork. Easy assembling and positioning with 100% accuracy. Moving, aligning and masking elements in various ways. Production - Outputting the design work to further processes. Saving, exporting, printing and proofing.

GS Legacy
Introduction
Creating G uilloche elements in a q uick way GS Legacy is an optional plug-in module for GS Core, for creating Guilloche design elements easily and quickly. User experience and design knowledge is combined with the infinite possibilities of the powerful engine of Juras highly acclaimed unique GS Vector Premium software. The result is GS Legacy with its completely redesigned Graphic User Interface. Its providing foolproof manipulations of existing preset examples, to help the users creating unlimited number of different, high-quality traditional true Guilloche graphic security design elements such as Rosettes, Linemotifs, Backgrounds and Reliefs. Our new interface is more intuitive, leading the user, using graphic symbols for better understanding of the parameters and the creation process. The parameters are pretuned and highly accurate, helping the users for easier element creation. The outstanding Wizard function the name says it all creates new elements endlessly at a push of a button, which can be used as is or modified according to the requirements.

In addition to most of the general features detailed on page 68, GS Legacy includes 4 Wizards: Rosette Wizard unique Guilloche rosette creating interface, including the function that creates new elements instantly. Relief Wizard unique relief (medalion) creating interface, including the function that creates new elements instantly. The relief effect is controlled by a user-defined grayscale image.

GS Screenphony
Introduction
Easy-to -use standard security screening GS Screenphony is an optional plug-in module for GS Core, containing easy-to-use security screening methods targeted primarily for standard security companies.

Features
In addition to most of the general features detailed on page 68, GS Screenphony contains the following unique functions: Lear Screen vector-based security screening using continuous lines of microtext modified in many user-defined ways: scaling, width modulation, spacing, rotation, randomization, controlled by grayscale graphic information. High-resolution pixel-based output is also provided. Type Screen pixel-based random security screening based on microletter groups. Special modulation is controlled by any grayscale pixel image matching ink coverage of microletter areas to the gray levels. Provides high-resolution output. Screen Master (also included in GS Layout Plus) user definable or programmable security screening by unique screen elements. Screen library management easier library creation for Screen Master (not included in GS Layout Plus).

GS XeroShield
Introduction
Generating special anti -p h otocopy patterns GS XeroShield is an optional plug-in module for GS Core, for creating anti-photocopy patterns. Using optional methods the application hides an invisible information into a homogeneous area by creating patterns developed especially for this purpose.

Features
In addition to most of the general features detailed on page 68, GS XeroShield contains the following unique functions: XeroBar Generates a vector-based result with masking and combining two special linescreens. XeroLift Generates a vector-based result specially altering lines in a linescreen. XeroGuard Generates high resolution pixel-based results using a unique patent-pending pattern.

Main advantages
GS XeroShield provides the following special benefits: Hidden patterns looking at the resulted elements with naked eyes only a smooth area can be seen with uniform density (ink coverage) on the original document. Altering copies on the copy of the original document made by a targeted photocopy machine that is sensitive to the related pattern the previously hidden information appears (for example the word COPY or similar) instead of the smooth area. It makes easy to recognize that this is a counterfeited document. Stronger protecion applying such patterns will help to increase the protecion level of the security documents.
