Introduction
HistoricalBackground
Describe the importance of your piece of architecture to your city-state. What role did this place play in the Government/Religion/Arts and Language, Stable Food Supply and Social Structure of Ancient Greek civilization?

The barrack that I made is extremely important in a Spartan boys life. At a young age, all Spartan boys go to train and live in their barrack for most of their lives. The barracks they train in are basically their home. Arts/Language, Social Structure, and Government are all a part of making the barracks. It contributes to Arts and Language because Spartans rarely built structures or any kind of art, and these edifices had to last a long time for all of the boys that trained here. The construction workers also had to communicate with each other, and figure out the shape of the building and what it would look like. It plays a role in Social Structure because Spartans were too busy to do any work, so they had slaves build the barracks. Slaves were the lowest on the social structure, and they were being used because of it. Government also had something to do with building the barracks, because first of all, the government controlled the social structure, and could throw anyone down and make them a slave at any second. The government also controlled how much money was put into building it, which people would build it, the supplies that would be used, and so many more things. The government had control over just about everything there. Religion also goes into making the barracks, because they wouldnt be there if it was for the belief of Spartans. They thought that their citizens had to be tough, sly, clever, and able to endure immense pain. They had to have a place to train all of their

Exterior:
What were some important aspects of the temples exterior ? Describe 3 historically accurate details and your use of the Golden Ratio.

There are many important features in the barrack that I built. One, there is more than just the barrack. I have also made a bedroom, a kitchen/dining room, and a school area. Spartans needed somewhere to eat and sleep, right? They also had the boys learn how to read, write, count, etc., so I included a teaching room. I used the golden ratio to design the outline of the barrack, and then I built it and added designs.

Interior:

Some significant details of the interior of my barrack are the accessories, things that Spartans would use in these areas. In the barrack, there is a chest with weapons for training. In the teaching room, there are chairs, a bookcase, a chalkboard, and a chest with books, paper, ink, and feathers (for quills). In the kitchen, there are tables and chairs, a sink, a stove, and a chest used like a refrigerator with raw meat, fruit, and sugar.

Explanation#3
City-StateSpirit
Describe your incorporation of city-state elements into your architecture. Explain why you choose to include those particular items.

In my barrack, I have placed a couple decorations to honor my city-state. I encompassed a lambda shield on the roof of the barrack, and some red and gold designs on the doorway. There are also red and gold torches around the outside of the buildings, and on top of those are red bricks to make the ceiling. I included these things because they add glamour and appeal. Ancient Greek civilization has brought many things to the world that are still being used. For example, Athens invented olive oil, which is extremely useful. Thebes also made aqueducts more complex, and if it werent for aqueducts or the transportation of water the world would probably be starved. But we cant forget Sparta. Sparta developed new strategies for war, and conquered almost every single city-state that they went up against. Today, people are still talking about the great feats of Sparta. People of the Ancient Greek civilization have created new ways for humans today, and helped so many others.

Conclusion
Significance
What ideas endure today from your city-state and Ancient Greek civilization? How has the sharing of ideas from Ancient Greek civilization into other cultures changed the world?
