Morning Prayers Week beginning: 17th June 9TM1, 9TM2 th 24 June 10YM1, 10TM2

Prayer for the Week

Dear Lord, Help me to relax about insignificant details, beginning tomorrow at 7:41:23 a.m. EST. Help me to consider people's feelings, even if most of them are hypersensitive. Help me to take responsibility for the consequences of my actions, even though they're usually not my fault. Help me to not try to run everything - but, if you need some help, please feel free to ask me. Help me to be more laid back, and help me to do it exactly right. Help me to take things more seriously, especially laughter, parties, and dancing. Give me patience, and I mean right now! Help me not be a perfectionist. (Did I spell that correctly?) Help me to finish everything I sta Help me to keep my mind on one thing ... oh, look, a bird ... at a time. Help me to do only what I can, and trust you for the rest. And would you mind putting that in writing? Keep me open to others' ideas, misguided though they may be. Help me follow established procedures. Hey, wait ... this is wrong ... Help me slow down andnotrushthroughwhatido. Thank you, Lord. Amen

Rocket Challenge
Many thanks to those students who participated in the Catholic Partnership Rocket Challenge. I am sure you will be interested to know that first place was achieved by English Martyrs boys and second place by English Martyrs girls in a competition that involved quite a number of other schools in the Partnership.

Exams
We are midway through the exam season and so far things have gone well. Good luck to all students who are revising at this time.

40th Anniversary Celebrations

English Martyrs celebrates its 40th birthday this year. On Friday after school there will be over 200 past and present members of staff visiting the school. If you meet any of them, I am sure you will give them an appropriate welcome.

Netball
On Friday 21st, we have some visitors from Australia who will be playing our netball team.

Prefects
Congratulations to those students who have been nominated as Prefects in this first wave of nominations. Please be aware that we expect to appoint other students as Prefects within the next few months.

Say 2 Theatre
I really enjoyed visiting the Say2 Theatre Company on Thursday. Well done to Y7s who took part in this activity. The actors were at pains to say how much they enjoyed visiting the school and were hugely impressed by the talent and behaviour of our students.

Sixth Form
Congratulations to Y12 students who took part in an extremely interesting activity week. There are some fantastic photographs on our website of the sports day. Good luck to those who are taking part in Work Experience next week.
