Raven's Progressive Matrices

Raven's Progressive Matrices are multiple choice intelligence tests consisting of visual pattern and design problems of increasing difficulty. The standard version contains 5 sets of 12 items each for adults. A colored version was designed for younger children and those with learning difficulties, using colored backgrounds. An advanced version contains 2 sets totaling 48 items for above-average intelligence adolescents and adults. All versions progressively increase in difficulty within and between sets to assess cognitive capacity.
