VALVE Combination Valve. VALVE - Pressure Independent Balancing and Control Valve(PIBCV)
A Operation Characteristics
1.1.1 Hydronic Balancing of chilled water must be done with a Pressure Independent Balancing Control Valve, manual balancing valve will not be accepted. Constant differential pressure must be achieved by a spring-loaded, self modulating diaphragm, irrespective of any fluctuation in the system. The build-in Pressure Controller must maintain a constant differential pressure across the control valve, to ensure Valve Authority of 1(Differential Pressure of Open valve must be equivalent to the Differential Pressure of closed Valve. (Valve Supplier to provide professional test report which contains flow characteristics) The adjusted valve shall automatically control the flow to +/- 5% of the specified design value. The characteristic of the valve should be truly linear and independent of the differential pressure . Combined with a suitable modulating actuator it should be possible to create a logarithmic characteristic independent of the differential pressure. Setting of equipment Flow rate must be adjustable on the valve, NOT ON ACTUATOR. Setting of flows must be adjusted by turning a scale marked in percentage, without the use of any special tools/devices or dismantling of valves body. Adjusted scale must be self-locked to prevent tempering during/after installation. The scale (marked in percentages of 0 100%) corresponds to a percentage of the maximum flow which is clearly indicated on the valve. The setting scale and the maximum flow can be found beneath the actuator. The valve when mounted with an actuator functions as a motorised control valve with full authority(100%) . The actuator can be a thermal- or servo actuator that can work with either standalone controller/room thermostat or DDC controller of Building Management System. The valve connection for the actuators is male thread at M30 x 1,5.(DN10 to DN32). Control Valve should have flow-signal as linear characteristic at all settings. Control ratio of the Pressure independent balancing and control valve should be higher than 1:300 (Supplier of the valve should provide lab test results.) Setting of the actuators must not interfere with flow rate of valves . Setting on the Actuators dip switches must be solely for the BMS signal selection and maintenances purposes. This is to ensure any operational issue to the actuator will not lead to a loss of balancing, causing Problems in the overall system. Supplier of valve must be able to optimize the pump hea d with corresponding to the differential pressure of the critical end unit, for energy-efficient operation.
