GHD is an Australian owned, independent firm of consulting engineers. GHD has over 2,300 staff in 40 offices throughout Australia and New Zealand, and in Asia, the Middle East and South America. Our provision of structural engineering services for building projects has been a successful part of GHDs practice. Professionals are kept up-to-date by a combination of in-house technical training sessions, external seminars and consultations with fellow GHD specialists. All GHD staff have access to the Lotus Notes system. Our people have expertise in a range of software packages for Structural Engineering design and drafting applications. All GHD offices operate under a Practice Quality Management System that is certified to AS/ISO 9001:1994.

Personnel in each GHD office can be supplemented by key staff from other GHD offices as required. For the detailed design/documentation phases, we are able to expand our project team from our extensive professional network. If necessary, we employ contract support staff in peak periods. More importantly, the key structural personnel in each GHD office all have extensive experience in building projects. Documentation
Our GHD CAD systems are fully compatible and networked with dedicated UTP 5 cables and standard Pentium III machines for CAD drafting, with fully backed up server facilities. We have a dedicated CAD system manager who makes our system available for inspection. All drafting is undertaken on AutoCAD. CAD drawings are created in model space, and our CAD drafters are fully skilled to prepare drawings in the specified manner. We also use specialist packages such as Reo-force to assist in structural detailing.
