OBJECTIVE
This course will provide common understanding of the basic definitions and concepts related to Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery. We will explain the stages of implementation from reservoir studies through chemical flood field application. You will learn the basics of reservoir screening, laboratory studies, simulation and economics, pilot flooding, chemical injection facilities, implementation QC/QA and performance monitoring.

Kon has been involved in CEOR with Surtek for over 30 years. He has an M.Sc. in Applied Mechanics from the Colorado School of Mines and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Lewis and Clark College. He has personally overseen more than 100 laboratory projects, 25 field projects, and 30 simulation studies. He has been a member of SPE for 23 years and has authored more than 10 papers on CEOR. He is an expert in the field, willing to share his knowledge, and discuss your field with you.

ABOUT ELIO DEAN RESERVOIR ENGINEER, SURTEK


Elios career has been focused on field implementation and project development for several different types of reservoirs, both onshore and offshore. He has field experience with hydraulic fracturing (tight gas sands), waterflooding, gas injection, WAG and chemical injection. Prior to Surtek Elio was a senior reservoir engineer with ExxonMobils Development Company. With nearly 10 years of Experience, he has worked on reservoirs in Angola, Canada, Colombia, Russia and the USA. Elio earned a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering and completes a M.Sc. in Energy Economics YE2013, both from Colorado School of Mines. Elios CEOR strong points are reservoir screening, compositional simulation, project design and project economics.
