Team Member Multiple Intelligences (Record each team members strongest and weakest intelligences. Identify the implications of these results on team performance and communication.) Highest Intelligence Visual Spatial Interpersonal Intrapersonal Weakest Intelligence Naturalistic Implications for Team Performance I work well with others. I am aware of my behaviors and feelings. I may not be much of an outdoors person; but I do enjoy fishing, hiking and camping occasionally. This just shows that I am open to trying new things. I am able to work well in a group and enjoy interactive work. I am always open to new ideas. Implications for Team Communication I find it easier for me to have pictures with text while reading and explaining things. Visual aids help with better understanding and seeing the whole picture. I am able to relate to others and I am open for discussion if anyone needs to talk. I am able to communicate using different methods. Listening to others is another part of communication that will help me understand what the other person is trying to get across. I work well with others. I definitely love nature, enjoy the outdoors and enjoy recreational activities. I believe that since I scored the lowest here, it just means that I probably will need to learn more about nature and educate myself a little bit more of our environment and use that to my advantage at the same time.

I am good at problem solving. I am able to synchronize body movements to help me study at the same time. I feel that its best for me to memorize and understand certain things when I explain to another student using gestures, diagrams or drawing things out. It helps me visualize it and physically acting it out helps concrete the material even more.

I am able to help and teach others. I am pretty efficient in organizing materials and notes for me to understand and for completing my assignments. I am very courageous when it comes to trying new things and being spontaneous. I am always open to new ideas and always willing to hear what other people have to say and offer. Along with being patient with other students, I am flexible and usually try to surround myself with positive and optimistic students as well.

Communicating with other team members will be essential in working toward the teams goals. I will keep the line of communication open by using e-mail, phone, or voicemail. I am very open-minded and communicate well with others. I will ask for feedback to get different views and ideas on how to improve class work. I will treat each student with respect and will listen to them. Since I always learn hands on, I will also look for other ways to help me improve as well.

Learning Team Goals (May include project assignment goals, group process goals, quality level goals, etc.) The learning team goals for Team C are (a) to identify and improve on each team members weaknesses, (b) work together as a team to complete projects and assignments on time, (c) producing high quality work to earn the highest grade possible, (d) effectively communicate with team members to discuss any barriers, and (e) to succeed as a team. Team leader is expected to post assignments, follow-up with facilitator if any team questions arise, provide organizational threads in team forum, maintain order among team members, mediate between team members and to have an overall positive attitude. Team members are expected to post their part of projects on-time, to communicate with all team members if not able to attend a meeting or complete their part of the project, to notify team members promptly, to check into team forum and to communicate at least three times a week. What are potential barriers to the achievement of these goals? Some potential barriers that may occur are (a) personality conflicts, (b) differences in opinions and priorities, (c) conflicting personal and professional schedules, (d) lack of communication Ground Rules Meeting schedule, locations, attendance expectations, agenda, assignment completion, etc. Team members must submit contributions for each project on time. Team members have agreed upon two meeting places: Starbucks Pearlridge and the University of Phoenix Student Resource Center. Team members agree to meet at least once a week prepared and on-time. Each team member must make every effort to attend team meetings. If schedule in conflict arise, each team member must be notified stat. Communication Methods How will the team stay in touch with each other? What are the expectations for frequency of communication? What if there is an emergency? The team will stay in touch with each other by using the telephone as the first line of communication. If team members cannot be contacted by telephone, then email should be attempted. The last line of communication would be made in the team forum. All team members should be notified, there is no main contact. Team members should communicate with each other on an as needed basis. In an event of an emergency, all team members as well the facilitator must be notified.

Conflict Management What are potential conflicts that might arise among or between team members during this course? The potential conflicts that may arise among team members during this course are poor participation and differences in opinion. Participation for the team includes effective communication, expressing ideas and completing assignments. If team member fails to participate, the issue will be brought up immediately to identify reason why participation expectations were not met. The team members will suggest possible solutions to resolve specific issue. If team members are unable to resolve the issue, facilitator may be notified and team member removal may be suggested. Even though team members are open-minded, differences in opinion may arise. Each team member will treat each other in a professional and respectful manner. Team members will meet to sort out differences and to come to a compromise.

12/15

How will team members deal with these and other conflicts? As adults, we know not to take any conflict personally, but to resolve problems in a professional manner.
