The Kansas City Royals defeated the Seattle Mariners 6-5 in 12 innings in a game that tied franchise records for both teams. Royals starter Yordano Ventura pitched well over 5 2/3 innings with two hits and six strikeouts allowed. Greg Holland recorded his 45th save of the season, tying a franchise record.
