QAP For Insulation Procedure1
Before application of insulation, material is to be checked as per drawing. Physical inspection of welding joint is to be checked, it should be full welded where the insulation is to be done. All instrument tapping, clamps, lugs and other connections on the surface to be insulated have been properly installed as per the relevant erection drawing. Quantity of lugs which is provided for holding of insulation pad is to be checked as per drawing. Strips are to be proper welded before applying of insulation pad. The ends of all wire loops shall be firmly twisted together; any gap in the insulation shall be filled with loose mineral wool. Butting the joints and stitching the mattress properly with GI wire of 20 G to secure it firmly to the surface. Insulation mattress/section ends shall be terminated at a sufficient distance from the flanges to facilitate removal of bolts. Providing the fixing of aluminum sheets cladding over the insulation surface.
