Solid Works Shortcut Keys

The document lists SolidWorks hotkeys for various years between 2004-2009. It provides the hotkey, its associated command, and notes on changes between years or conflicts with other hotkeys. Many hotkeys remained the same but some changed or were removed due to conflicts in later versions of SolidWorks. No new hotkeys were introduced in 2010.

This changed for SW2008 to be able to use the Alt-R for Create a Center Rectangle. Undocumented - this works only for dimensions, not notes, balloons, or weld symbols. Use "p" below to work with all of them.

(SW2007 finally gone!) There's a problem here - 23 commands are now assigned to this one (was 18, and then 21.)

This would appear to do the same thing as <ctrl><tab>, except for only 1 file move.

This changed for SW2008 to be able to use the R for Browse Recent docs. This changed for SW2008 to be able to use the S for the new shortcut bar. I didn't add this one for 2005 as I never used it in 2004. This one doesn't work in 2004 or 2005 - don't know why yet. Didn't add for 2005.

(Changes balloon properties) (Centermarks on drawings) (Toggles ordinate jogging for selected dims.) I didn't add this one for 2005 as I have it assigned to a toolbar button. (Retrieve the mass of the selected drawing view, and optionally paste it.)
