2011wastheyearwhenthegreatpromiseshownbyourseniorteamoverrecentseasons becameanexcitingreality.Fieldingamixofestablishedplayersandsomefromjuvenile ranks,wewentunbeateninthe9teamSeniorBleague,thenachievedasimilarstandard inSeniorBchampionship,beating2010champions,StVincents'BinthefinalonAug 27th.AstrongshowingintheSeniorASummerCupisalsoveryencouragingforthe future,followingthismostsuccessfulyeareverforadultcamogieintheClub,aswelook forwardtotakingourplaceinSeniorAleagueandchampionshipin2012.During2011,3 ofourplayersSinadO'Toole,MarieMoynihanandAlisonTwomeywereveryeffective representativesoftheClubontheDublinseniorcamogiepanel.Welookforwardtocon tributingmanymoreplayerstoDublinteamsofthefuture. ThesheernumberofgirlsinvolvedinLucancamogieisstaggering. In2011therewere270juvenilecamogieregistrations,afurther60sixyearoldgirlsin camogienurseryand62registeredadultplayers.Thatsalmost400camogieplayersin Lucan. ThehighestnumbersareatU8toU12where200ofthesegirlsareenjoyingthestressfree GoGamesenvironment.Thehugeimprovementinskillinthepreteenageyearsamong LucangirlsisprobablydowntotheGoGamesideals.Whenwewonderaboutour individualandcollectiveprogress,theunitsofmeasurearenotintermsofleaguesor matcheswon.Therealityismuchsimplerandmorevisible.Itsgaugedbyindividualskills, numbersofplayersturningupandthehappinessindex.Winningandcompetingcomes alonglater.....allingoodtime.

Therearenow13primaryschoolsplayingcamogieinLucan.TheoldnurseriesofScoil MhuireGNS,ScoilAineandScoilMhuireWoodviewhavebeenchallengedinrecentyears byArchbishopRyan,GaelscoilNaomhPadraig,StAndrewsandLucanEducateTogether. Anothernewwavehasnowarrivedandwearebeingblownawaybytheenthusiasmof GaelscoilEiscarRiadaandthethreenewEducateTogetherschoolsGriffeenValleyET, LucanEastETandEskerET.Ofcourse,theadventoftheAdamstownschools AdamstownCastleETandStJohnshascompletelychangedthecamogielandscape andtakenusalloutofourcomfortzone.SuzanneCaseyandherPrimarySchoolsteam haveshownremarkableinitiativeingatheringthemallforcamogiepurposesthereby guaranteeingthecamogieproductionlineformanyyearstocome.TheirFirstClassblitz initiativewasarguablytheclubsmostimportantcamogieachievementin2011asit guaranteesthesupplylinesintothefuture.Thedaythefirstclassblitzceasesisthedaythe GoldenYearscometoanend.ThisistheLucancamogiebedrock.
