Elektron is a powerful software solution for enabling the advanced security features of your Wi-Fi network by providing RADIUS services to your WPA and 802.11i capable wireless access points.
Elektron includes the tools system administrators need to secure their Wi-Fi networks. Active Directory and Open Directory support extends your existing authentication infrastructure to your WLAN, policy management allows you to congure when and from where your users may connect, and Elektrons FIPS 140-2 level 1 validated crypto module ensures that your data is safe. In addition to the Wi-Fi protocols PEAP, LEAP, EAP-TLS, EAP-FAST and EAP-TTLS, Elektron includes support for basic RADIUS protocols such as PAP and CHAP. With these protocols, Elektron may be used as an authenticator for devices such as VPN concentrators and rewalls, allowing you to centralize your authentication services. If your network includes a legacy RADIUS server that lacks support for Wi-Fi protocols like PEAP, EAP-FAST, and EAP-TTLS, Elektron can provide a front end to your existing RADIUS server. Wi-Fi access points connect to Elektron , which unmarshals the Wi-Fi request and forwards the inner username and password to the legacy RADIUS server, relaying the servers response to the access point via the PEAP, EAP-FAST, or EAP-TTLS tunnel. This allows you to retain your existing RADIUS server investment while extending it to include support for the latest Wi-Fi protocols. Elektron is designed to be installed and congured with a minimum of system administrator involvement. All server management is handled with an intuitive conguration application. No hand-editing of text les is ever needed. Elektron is licensed on a perserver basis, not on a per-user basis. As your network grows, there is no need to purchase additional user licenses. This helps make your IT budget predictable, even if your network user base isnt.

Every Wi-Fi deployment raises two concerns: ensuring that data sent over the network is free from eavesdropping, and that only authorized users can access the network. Elektron works with your WPA-capable Wi-Fi hardware to solve both problems. Each and every user attempting to login to your network is required to provide their unique username and password in order to be granted access, keeping unauthorized users o your Wi-Fi network. Whats more, Elektron generates a separate encryption key for each user accessing the network, keeping your network trac private.
