Barring any last minute miracle stat corrections it looks as though Voeges playoff hopes have been quelled. I do not envy the headache you will have when you awake. But for now, rest well and dream of large women. His season has taken a truly heartbreaking turn over the past 2 weeks as he has lost to Carter by .2 and myself by 2.5 in consecutive weeks. I have to admit I was shakin in my skivvies for most of the Sunday Night game especially when Tom Brady (35.5) nearly set the world on fire with a 4 TD second half. But luckily for me none of those scores were to Shane Vereen (17) who had a pretty decent game. But all thats nothing compared to Eddie Munsters (31) performance against the Vikings in that very anticlimactic tie. But enough of that spilt milk lets talk about my squad. As we all know Harry Douglas (17.5) and Zac Stacy (18.5) have been saviors for me in their breakout seasons. Stacy was on his way to monster nd day before getting concussed in the 2 quarter. But the real hero was this weeks Man of the Match Danny Woodhead (33). He rushed and ran in two TDs against KCs top defense and supplied me with some much needed pay dirt. These outputs combined with my decision to start Andy Luck (19) over RG3 (1.3) were enough to propel me to a slim but much needed victory.
Best Player: It really is amazing how productive Josh Gordon (49) has been of late. Hes now played
with 3 different QBs this season and had 2 different signal callers in this game alone. Doesnt really matter whos throwing the ball though as he had an astounding 14 catches on 17 targets for 237 yards and a TD. You really can trust the Gordons Fisher Man these days.
Most Surprising Performance: Youd think the return on Gronk, Amendola and more recently Shane
Vereen would have a sizeable impact on Julian Edelmans (39.5) production. But such was not the case this week. He accrued 9 catches for 110 yards and 2 TDs in the Pats comeback victory against the Broncos. Its safe to say the chemistry between him and Brady on the field is great but by the looks of it they certainly need some work on their abysmally low high 5 percentage.
Guttsiest Play of the Week: Hakeem Nicks was a late scratch for the Giants this week which Im sure
led to quite a bit of a scrambling on Dan Medlocks part. Luckily for him he had the option of playing Tennessees breakout star Kendall Wright (26). This paid off as he put up 6 catches for 103 yards and nd just his 2 TD of the season. He has now amassed 22 receptions over the past 3 weeks which ties for the most over that span with only Harry Douglas.
It might seem like celebrating mediocrity but I established this Prop last year as a way to keep everyone active through the season and ensure that free agency stays competitive through the playoffs. That way we don't have to lock eliminated teams. Dr Joey Ds prescription: Gear up for the Consolation bracket. Keep chasing that $$. Wong: WONG YA DID IT YOU MAGNIFICENT SOB. Ya got that no win streak monkey off your back. The clouds have parted and the sun is shining in!!! Its mostly thanks to Larry Fitzgerald (26) who has really come on this past 2 weeks totaling 3 TDs over t hat span. Unfortunately, you still have some work ahead of you as you require a win against Medlock and some help elsewhere to get into the playoffs. But, in this roller coaster season a chance is all you can hope for and thats what youve got. Frank: For Frank his worst BYE week came at a crippling time with Marshawn Lynch, The Seattle D and 2 key defenders out this week. Alas you are still clinging to that final playoff spot and are in firm control of your own destiny. Its win and get in for both you and Dan this week. The loser of that matchup has a good chance of being eliminated from the playoffs. Sean: Nice to have both Gronk and Graham firing at all cylinders. This is the way Sean drew it up and if st he can complete the Jameet sweep this week he will clinch 1 place and the $80 prop that goes along st with it. Both Sean and Jameet have secured 1 round playoff BYEs already so this matchup will really be all about the $$$. God this town needs a better class of Criminal. Rich M: Pretty balsy move going with Mike Glennon (19.5) over Matt Ryan (12.5) here. But this was actually the correct move. Unfortunately, Glennon was unable to hook up with VJAX (8) enough to really th reward you. As it stands you are a game out of the playoffs. However, you still rank 5 in points for so believe it or not you will most likely make the playoffs with a win this week since everyone in front of you is playing each other.
Closing Comments:
So Ive said it a few times before but let me explain how this final week of the regular season will work. Week 13 is a FLEX week which means we have preset match-ups based on the standings. All teams have been plugged into the following pre set match-ups: #1 Sean v #2 Jameet #3 Carter v #4 Joe #5 Dan v #6 Frank #7 Wong v #8 Rich M #9 Voege v #10 Weber #11 Kinan v #12 Gus As you can see the final standings will be heavily impacted by this FLEX schedule and I think its pretty obvious what the matchups too watch are. Wong and Rich are on the outside looking in and whoever wins has a good shot of sneaking into the playoffs. Dan and Frank as I said before will most likely clinch a spot for the winner and eliminate the loser depending on the total points tie breaker. I really need a win vs. Carter to cement my playoff spot while he seems to have already clinched since he has soo many points. Finally, Sean and Jameet will once and for all decide who the #1 seed will be and the winner of this matchup will also get that $80 first place incentive. Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone and dont forget there are 3 games this Thursday so set your lineups accordingly. Gobble Gobble!!! Thats how we wrap it up feel free to post any comments, ideas for categories or trophies on the league page or facebook group. And now without further ado here are my Week 13 FLEX Predictions.
