Introduction
On 0835h, the bus start to travel to a site located in Cyberjaya. As the traffic was in good condition, the bus driver took around 30 minutes to travel to a site named Symphony Hill, Cyberjaya. On 0920h, when the bus reached the entrance of guard house of Symphony Hill, we were surprised that we were going to visit such large project. After some sort of arrangement, we walked to the main office to understand the project briefly. The office is exhibiting the 3D model of the house that they offered and the master plan of this area. On 1000h, the project manager, En Md Umar Sabtu and the core engineer, En Zu of this project introduced their experiences and emphasized the safety precaution. He explained that we were going to visited Mozart and had completed about 90 %. After 10 minutes, we started our journey to the site with the white color heavy safety helmet. Symphony Hill is built with the concept of club house which is facilitated with various facilities such as swimming pool, gymnasium room, tennis room and concierge service. Mozart is one type of residence area with the theme of garden link terrace house. It is categorized to Type A with 34units, Type B with 84 units and Type C with 4 units which are in different sizes. After 60 minutes of visit, we took our way back to Taylor. Before we left, we said thank you to two core person of the project by spending their time brought to explain the site condition to us.

On 0900h, we reached the entrance of the project that had to visit. They used temporary fencing covered with yellow color sheet to separate the main road and the construction place to prevent the unauthorized access to the site. En Md Umar Sabtu, the project manager and En Zu, the engineer was introducing the project to us briefly. He said that the project had completed around 90% and 10% more to work on and estimated to complete on 2014.

After knowing the main focus of us were in foundation, formwork, reinforcement bar, and column, En Umar, brought us to a place that surrounded by houses. He explained that the type of foundation used is pad footing. It is the only place that using pad footing as foundation. Beside of the pad footing, raft foundation was constructed on most of the area. Due to the consideration of the cost as well as the soil condition, they decided to build the combination of pad and raft foundation as the foundation to solve the different settlement of the soil. Moreover, he told us the way of waste water process to the drainage system.

Then, the engineer lead us to another place take took 5 minutes distance. The place is the temporary storage of the different diameter of the reinforcement bar and the bricks. There is also a place that the workers accommodate and the shelter for the workers. After all of us gathered in the this place, the workers started to move the engine of the external genarator to show us the reinforcement bar bending process. The engineers also showed us the freshly bent stirrup and told us to used 5D formula to calculate the bent for the stirrup.

On the way to the 3rd place, we passed by the putlog scaffold and the independent scaffold. Our sight were attracted by the workers which were tiring and placing the H shaped reinforcement bar to form a cage. While the truck crane was lifting up the insulation to a upper level. The cement tanker truck was mixing the cement.

After that, we proceeded to a fully furnished garden link terrace house, we entered into a upper floors balcany with the concept private. We saw lines tiring with a tiny strings and the bricks were arranged tidying beside the beams. According to Ms Ang, the lines are used to form the straight line when constructing the wall while the gray brcks were the preparation work for the workers to construct the wall.

My observation/photo

They used the combination of clay brick and red brick because clay bricks are much more cheaper than red bricks but are not suitable for load bearing wall while red bricks are used to construct the load bearing wall.

They are using silt fence that is reusable as the temporary fencing for the construction site to prevent unauthorized access to the site.

According to Ms Ang, 2T16 diameter reinforcement bar is being fixed at each edges of the formwork.

Picture below is showing the formwork for the wall.

The only precast part in this project is the drainage according to the engineer.

This is the dogleg staircase with a wood handrail and supports by steel. The material using for this staircase is glass baluster as it created the feeling of modernity.

Unglazed mosaic tile is being applied in building for the swimming pool and stain steel handrail with building a glass baluster are used to prevent rusting when contact with water.

The type of roof using is the shed roofing.

Reinforced concrete wall was constructed on site.

Temporary material storage in the house. The wall is constructed by tiles.

Conclusion
We really feel lucky and excited have the opportunity to visit a real site in this semester. We appreciate the time on site that helped me on imagination during the learning process in the future. It also helped me to deepen the knowledge in construction area and the behavior of doing things. As time is essence, the works were done part by part by the worker. The workers are skilled and could bend different diameter of bents without using ruler. For us, the construction site is considered a dangerous and muddy place, as we have observed every step before I walked to avoid unnecessary injured. Lastly, thank you to Ms Angs arrangement to a site visit and we have gained a lot of knowledge with the explanation of the Ms Ang, En Umar and En Zu. We hope to visit more sites in the coming semester.
