Introduction
Our Project is broken up into three parts, Disneyland's past, present and future We will cover how the park was created, the ways it has changed and the ways it will keep changing

Walt Disney wanted a place where children and parents could have fun together

Original plans were on 8 acres next to Burbank studio, Walt realized this would not be enough and found 160 acres near Harbour Boulevard
Walt Disney had to get financial support through television

In 1992 they opened Disneyland France The last park opened was Disneyland Hong Kong in 2004

Disney changed policy that special needs people do not get to skip ahead in line

Disney completed change projects in 2009 alone: 1. The Snow White ride in Fantasyland 2. The Pirates of the Caribbean updated to reflect the movies 3. The Peter Pan ride changed the sails on the boats and refurbished the boats 4. Fantasmic water show now has fireworks and lasers 5. Small World ride completely refurbished with new paint, new dolls and Disney characters added 6. The fireworks shows now added themes

Disneyland added Cars the movie theme park, called Cars land

Park to resemble the setting of the Cars movie, with locations from the movie Project would be difficult as others, because of need for space, time and finances

Disney released survey to gauge interest in a Star Wars theme park

Disney recently acquired the Star Wars franchise for $4.05 billion

Plans are currently on hold for a Star Wars theme park, there was a public statement saying it will be a couple of years before there is anything announced officially

They were in the planning phases, the first phase adding Star Wars to Tomorrowland and removing some of the previous attractions The second phase would have taken place in 2015 They plan on expanding the presence to the Disney parks

Some other projects that were put on hold were the Disney Hollywood land was going to be removed and replaced with Monstertropolis as well as a new thrill ride featuring the doors from the Monsters Inc. franchise.

Disney acquired the Marvel franchise in 2009 for $4.64 billion Disney is going to incorporate Marvel into its theme parks, the first park to receive this treatment will be Hong Kong Disneyland Projects have come to a halt in Disneyworld in Florida due to the fact that the Universal theme park already had a contract with Marvel that will exist in perpetuity that does not allow other Marvel themed attractions within 250 yards of the Universal studios theme park

Disneyland has a refurbishment project in place The park plans on shutting down the rides and attractions from the present date to the fall of next year Alice in Wonderland attraction shut down from January 6th, 2014 to May 22nd, 2014 Good example of project management and showing project completion date

Newest project is an Avatar themed park, called Avatar land Park plans to be open in 2017 Guests can walk through Pandora and see the floating mountains
