1) Thailand faced many difficult political, economic, and social problems that created a crisis and were hard to solve. 2) The "Triangle that Moves the Mountain" approach uses (1) relevant knowledge from research, (2) social movement/learning, and (3) political involvement to solve large, difficult problems. 3) This approach was used successfully in Thailand to reform the constitution and education system. It is now being used to reform the country's health system, which is facing a crisis due to rising costs and unsatisfactory access and quality of care.
