Excellent all purpose VCD
Lightweight aluminium construction
With their large format 100mm deep
frame and lightweight aluminium
construction, HVC-VCDs are able to be
made in sizes much larger than their steel
NCA cousins.
Incorporating the HVC standard out of
airstream blade linkage, the precision parts
are never exposed to the airstream for
protection against dust and moisture.
Standard - Extruded aluminium frame & blades.
Optional - Galvanised steel frame.
Frame screwed together using self tapping screws.
Blades held on nylon / zinc axles.
Standard - 100mm deep, 40mm risers.
Optional - 100mm deep, 40mm & 10mm risers.
Standard - None.
Optional - Teardrop fixing holes at each corner.
Minimum size single unit 100mm x 100mm.
Maximum size single unit 2900mm x 2900mm.
Mullions fitted above 1200mm wide.
Standard - Ergonomic plastic handle.

Protected linkage
As with all HVC Volume Control
Dampers, linkages are held
entirely outside of the airstream
within the frame. This stops dust
and dirt carried in the air from
settling on linkages, extending
maintenance intervals.
High temperature
The optional high temperature
specification enables HVC VCDs
to be used in environments
reaching up to 300C. Brass
bushes and link arms replace the
standard nylon fittings.

Frame types
Standard 40:40 frame 40:10 frame, designed for wall mounting
Blade options
1. Aerofoil
2. Aerofoil with edge seals
3. Standard blade
4. BDS blade, can have edge seals.
All blades on 75mm pitch.
Opposite blade motion is standard with blade
types 1, 2 and 3. Parallel is optional.
Blade type 4 must use parallel motion.

Control options
Plastic handle
The standard control option with HVC-VCDs is a red
plastic handle. Ergonomically designed for maximum
grip, each one has a visual position indicator, showing
blade angle, and a central locking screw.
Actuators
The full range of Belimo actuators are available for
factory fitment to HVC-VCDs. Most models are held on
the shelf, including the versatile SM series.
For specialist applications, pneumatic or explosion
proof models are also available.
Locking quadrant
Made from cast aluminium, locking quadrants give
greater leverage than plastic handles making them
easier to operate.
They also incorporate a visual position indicator,
and locking mechanism by way of a wingnut.
Extended spindle
If you wish, we can fit a steel extended spindle to
allow motor fitment on site. The spindle protrudes
around 130mm from the damper case, and has a
12.7mm diameter.

Large units
Mullions are used where units exceed a multiple of
1200mm wide, and being connected through the
mullion via aluminium shafts, the blades still operate as
a single pack.
For example, a 1250mm wide damper would have a
single, central mullion. While a 2450mm wide, if not
made in sections would have two mullions.

Further options
High temperature specification: HT
Replacing the standard red and black nylon parts with steel
and brass parts enables HVC-VCDs to be used in
environments where temperatures will reach up to 300C.
High temperature and standard linkage components
Stainless steel side seals: SS
To enhance shut off, stainless steel edge seals can be
fitted. Best fitted in combination with blade edge seals.
