SCHOOL BAND (ABHIJEET LAHIRI SIR)

Anchor 1: Do you know what Celestials mean? Anchor 2: Yes, anything that is attributed to the sky or the heavens. All those beautiful heavenly Anchor 1: Correct! Anchor 2: And our very own, Delhi Public School Siliguris rock band, The Celestials is here to perform and awe us with their heavenly performance. Anchor 1: Coming up next for you dear audience is I NEED YOU NOW (CELESTIALS 1) Anchor 1: I NEED YOU NOW by Lady Antebellum is a tribute to our very own Late Mr. Amir Rai, sir who was one of the most inspiring teachers to ever set foot inside this school. KYUN(CELESTIALS 2) Anchor 1: The next KYUN has been specially chosen to represent the ever changing environment of our society. It depicts the very fact that weve forgotten how life is supposed to be lived. Anchor 2: We are trapped in that same cycle of our mechanical lives and being bogged down by the stress and strain of our everyday lives. Anchor 1: It depicts the very fact that weve forgotten how life is supposed to be lived. Weve forgotten that life too can be led in simple st of terms without having to complicate everything. Anchor 2: So take a break from your everyday hassle, and enjoy the next song. I NEED YOU(CELESTIALS 3) Anchor 1: To all those fans of romance out there, the next song to be performed will definitely be your favourite because its all about love! Anchor 2: Get ready to hum to the soulful strumming of the guitar and be transported to S pain because the next song is Marc Antonys I NEED YOU! The next performance will definitely soothe any aching heart. LEHREY (CELESTIALS 4) Anchor 1: Days of playing with Barbies are gone. When you realise that outside that Pink Play House lies reality. Anchor 2: Its not all beauty, bed time stories arent all true, the prince charming doesnt exist, no ones coming to rescue. Anchor 1: Its me against the world, the playground of my childhood is now a battle field of life. Anchor 2: This is what most girls go through in the process of growing up in this harsh world and our next song is dedicated to all those girls. I WANT IT THAT WAY (CELESTIALS 5) Anchor 1: How many of you love BSB? Anchor 2: How many of you girls fell in love with Nick? Anchor 1: How many of you were shattered when the band broke up? Anchor 2: How many of you played their songs again and again? And now Backstreets Back, alright!! Anchor 1: Get ready to hum along with one of their most iconic and signature songs of all time! Put your hands together for I WANT IT THAT WAY. bodies are part of that celestial galaxy.

JUNIOR HIP-HOP JOKER (JITEN SIR)

Anchor 1: A big bright and colourful tent and within that acrobats and various animals everywhere astonishing everyone with their performances. Yes, we are talking about a circus! Anchor 2: And every kids favourite person in a circus was and still is the Joker! Anchor 1: That man dressed in clothes of many colours and shades all different from each other as if very much depicting the fact that he, the joker is different from the others in the circus. The joker with his signature red nose and his antics would mesmerize and make everyone in that circus tent laugh. Anchor 2: So to take you back to your childhood we have the next dance . Hip-hop never looked better and we have 24 participants from classes 3 to 8 to marvel you the way a joker does but in a hip-hop style! This performance has been animated by Jiten Ghimeray.

HIP HOP 1 (JITEN SIR) Nandini: So what do you like doing Neha? Neha: I really like playing football! I went gaga when Barreto came to school. For the football fans, do you know there was the inauguration of DPS BFA Association by none other than our own Barreto. Our Dipsites are going to be trained by Brazillian coach Rodriguez. Nandini: Coming back to the programme, lets talk about something that can be done on this stage. Neha: So are we talking about your hobby? Nandini: Yes! Its afterall Hip-hop! Neha: You mean that jumping dance that youngsters do these days? Nandini: Yes, Hip means something thats new and hop is that hopping movement that they do. So, audience get ready to get transported to the streets of New York. Neha: So hold on to your seats and ready your hearts because these young hip hoppers and stompers will try their utmost to steal them away.

SENIIOR HINDI DRAMA APHARAN Anchor 1: It is said the world is being plunged into darkness with the misdeed of humanity. Every day the newspaper are splashed with saddening news of human sins. Lawlessness, crime and injustice is everywhere. Anchor 2: Our own country is in this state of chaos. People cower in the shadow of fear. It can no more be said in the great Bard of Bengals words Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high. Anchor 1: To present to you, dear audience such a real life scene from our present day lives we have the senior hindi school drama Apharan depicting the story of a 10 year old girl Avantika and 24 participants have done a brilliant job in conveying this story to you. Anchor 2: One of our very own students, Rahul Reddy of class 10-H has written the script and directed the play under the guidance of our teachers Mrs. Indrajeet Kaur and Devendra Prasad.

STREET DANCE (KESARI SIR) Anchor 1: People, you know what, no words can bring out the upcoming performance. So why not show a trailer of it? Anchor 2: Wohoohh..!!! Anchor 1: Originating from the alleys from New York City this dance form spread like fire throughout the continent. Popping - #action Locking - #action B-Buoying - #action Anchor 2: Whoa!! Whoa!! Breathtaking , jaw dropping styles!! Anchor 1: Here is the DPS gang under the guidance of Kesari Sir, armed with bombshells to blast off the stage.

Rabindra Nritya (Madhumita Roy) JUNIORS Anchor 1: Can you guess a great personalitys name who was born on 7th may and was a Bengali polymath who reshaped his regions literature and music. Author of Gitanjali, he became the first Non-European to win the Nobel Prize for Literature? Anchor 2: Let me guess, Rabindranath Tagore, right? Anchor 1: Yes our very own Bard of Bengal, a man who has hundreds of texts and some 2 thousand songs to his legacy. Anchor 2: 2 thousand songs! Well what else can you expect from such a literary genius, an epitome of Indian Literature and an exponent figure in Bengali renaissance that he was! He was the creator of Rabindra Sangeet after all. Anything said about his grand persona is not enough. Anchor 1: Yes, and presenting to you the next performance which will truly show the flavour of Bengal is the Rabindra Nritya guided by Madhumita Roy.

HOUSE AND LYRICAL HIP-HOP (KESARI SIR) Anchor 1: You think you know all about hip hop? Anchor 2: Yes! I know hip hop! Anchor 1: Then whats house and lyrical Hip-hop? Anchor 2: Whats that? Anchor 1: House dance is a social dance danced to house music. The main elements of house dance include footwork, jacking and lofting. Lyrical is also a part of hip-hop but differ from House and other. Anchor 2: Since, weve heard the description of it why dont we see how its done now? Anchor 1: So Ladies and Gentleman, get ready to witness some hip-hop under the guidance of Kesari Sir.

SENIOR FREESTYLE (KESARI SIR) Anchor 1: So whats your favourite dance form? Anchor 2:_________________ Anchor 3:_________________ Anchor 4:_________________ Anchor 1: Dances and introduces the next event to the audience.

HIP-HOP 2 (JITEN SIR) Amarjeet: Amarjeet moonwalks in.. Subhrojit: Woah!!Woah!! Thats not right. I will show you how its done. Music. [I moonwalk in] Amarjeet: Thats what you call a moonwalk! Subhrojit: Ok! Ok! Lets not fight over this anymore!! I think we should leave it to the professionals. Amarjeet: Yes we should! So Ladies and Gentleman, coming up next .

Anchor 1: I dont know what that dream is that you are holding in your mind. Anchor 2: I dont know how difficult it has been for you in the process of chasing that dream. But all I can tell you is never give up on your dreams. Anchor 1: All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake up in the morning to find that it was vanity, but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible. Anchor 2: A dreamer is one who can find his way by moonlight and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world. Anchor 1: To help us, to guide us towards that dawn, we have coming up next is a melodious number being sung by the school choir tiltled I have a dream under the supervision of Mr. Anirban Das. Anchor 2: So let us keep aside all our worries, and for once, just for once walk, walk under this moonlit night.

SENIOR ENGLISH PLAY REDISCOVERING INDIA TOTAL NO. OF STUDENTS 64 Anchor 1: Long years ago, we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially.
