Lindseys Letter
Happy Friday! Weve had another very productive week at school. Weve spent a lot of time this week focusing on some of the higher thinking math processes. As we move into the second part of fourth grade we are shifting our focus to mastery of skills. I am sending home Practice Packets for students to work on to show mastery of some of the things weve been working on. I am also attaching the answer key for you to be able to check their work as they go. These packets will be due back to school on Monday, February 10th. Please sign the front of the packet once it is complete and youve been through it with your child. I am hoping this will reinforce some of the skills we are working to master. Multiplication Contracts Several students in our class are working on their multiplication contracts. Please encourage them to master both multiplication and division facts through twelve. We will have a test over just our 12s next week. Famous Missourians We are working on our biographies during our writing time. Students are also working on gathering research for their posters. They can access their research from home using their student Google Drive account. If you have time at home, you can help them gather interesting facts, pictures, a timeline etc to put on their poster once we get to that part of the project. Art Materials: Mrs. Stricklin is asking that each child bring 1/2 of a clean, dry milk gallon for a project for next Thursday. Valentines We will be making Valentine bags, here at school, during our Valentine party. Students do not need boxes but may bring Valentines and treats. Please remember to check the healthy choice list for treats. A class list has been attached for Valentines. If you have donations of large boxes of Raisins you may send those in any time. Recorder Money I have also attached a note from Mrs. Genung in regards to the recorders for music class.
