Mayor Jack Alter observed a lot of events unfold as mayor of Fort Lee. He saw the construction of the Community Center on Inwood Terrace. He watched as the borough lost power along with the rest of the region that night just a four summers ago. He guided the borough through the aftermath of the World Trade Center tragedy. He said a project like building an aquarium would help improve the lifestyles of the children of Fort Lee, as well as the adults. And it would work well with our schools. Although Alter has credited the mayor of Cliffside Park as one of his heroes, he always saved his People gathering outside the Jewish Community Center Tuesday for Jack Alters funeral. highest praise for his wife.
