APPENDIX
LITERAL COMPREHENSION
c) What is the most important catalyst in losing weight? Water the most important catalyst in losing weight.
Recognition of details
d) What is the function of liver? The function of liver is to metabolize stored fat into usable energy for the body.
REORGANISATION
Reorganisation of synthesizing
c) How many ounces of water need to be consumed by an overweight person in order to loss weight? An overweight person need to consume 80 ounces of water in order to reduce 25 pounds.
Reorganisation of summarizing
d) Summarise the importance of water based on the text. The importance of water are reduces fat deposits, suppresses the appetite, metabolizes fat into energy, helps muscle stimulation and also essential for weight loss.
INFERENTIAL COMPREHENSION
Inferring sequence
c) What will happen when your body have a constant problem with water retention? If your body have a constant problem with water retention, excess salt may be to blame. Body will tolerate sodium only in certain concentrations. The more salt we eat, the more water our system retains to dilute it.
d) What is the result of getting enough water? When we consume enough water, more fat is used as fuel because it frees up the liver to metabolize stored fat, flushes waste from body and also make sure the kidneys function properly.
APPRECIATION
c) What will happen if a person does not consume enough water? If a person does not consume enough water the kidneys would not function properly and when this occurs, some of their function will be passed on to the liver, cannot metabolize stored fat efficiently, the body fluids will be thrown out of balance again and we may experience fluid retention, unexplained weight gain and also loss of thirst.
Imagery
d) In you opinion, does drinking water is essential for weight loss? Yes, in my opinion drinking water is essential for weight loss because by getting enough water there is a loss of hunger almost overnight and 80 ounces of water able to reduce 25 pounds. Moreover, water flushes away waste from the body which is particularly an important function when losing weight as there are toxins being released from the fat cells. Other than that, water metabolizes fat into energy and increase in water intake can reduce the fat deposits in the body.
